HeadingNorth   11 #5 Posted February 27, 2012 walk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  There does come a point at which "cheapest way" is no longer preferable. For most people, walking is well past that point; but you cannot dispute that it is the cheapest. All it costs is a pair of new trainers every few months.  There is probably a bus route available, changing at Chesterfield - but again, the time it takes would probably outweight any potential cost saving. Remember that if you take an extra hour to do something in order to save five pounds, you are working for less than the national minimum wage. InSheffield   10 #6 Posted February 27, 2012 If for some reason you're determined to get a bus, you can change in Chesterfield, but it'll take you over two hours that way.
 Share this content via...

Redyam   10 #9 Posted February 27, 2012 Actually, hitch-hiking is the cheapest way. Just hold up a big sign, and eventually someone will pick you up. Good luck!
 Share this content via...

tinfoilhat   11 #11 Posted February 27, 2012 Depends where you are in Sheffield and where you need to go in derby. If you live close to the train station and your final destination is close to the station, a train would probably be better.  If you aren't close to train stations and live close to the m1, and there is free/cheap parking get a teeny tiny fuel efficient, low car tax motor and drive.  I'd generally try and drive anyway, but as others have mentioned it's worth factoring in how long you are going hanging around bus stops and train stations to save a few pound a week.
