hi orbs

I was told you have a year to change your mind when installed

after that if we sell the house the new owners would have to keep the meter

That,s correct, if after the first year you wish to revert to standard charges, then you can but the meter has to stay in place. We were paying in excess on £600 but with a meter we now pay £384 that is for 2 people in S13

I am metered. I think I pay £40 a quarter!

Though single male, that is not overly keen on washing up, and I save my clothes to do maybe one full load a week!

No they are correct as of the bill I received only today.

I had thought about getting a meter but it may not be possible when living in a flat.

You can, a mate of mine asked for a meter.

I am also metered . Shower every am. , wash a load every week + an extra one once a fortnight for bedding . The rest is as you say just washing up . I pay £11.00p per month D.D.

I applied for a meter for my Mum who was paying approx £600 in water rates. They came to fit one but were unable to find the water pipe, but they did repair the sewage pipe they smashed in the process. Result was they couldn't put her onto a meter but have switched her to assessed charges which are circa £200 pa.

You are going to have to give us more details. Is this an annual bill?

If not, are both meter reading estimated or actual (or one of each)?
