From Sheffield Online.

"Harris is believed to have painted the self-portrait in the early 1990s on the wall of the Sheffield Archives.

Labour councillor Isobel Bowler said the picture would be painted over as soon as possible.

"To have a mural depicting a convicted child abuser, it's not appropriate at all," Ms Bowler said.

"We will be painting it over as soon as we can and then once that's happened we will look to put some street art up on the wall there to keep it decorated."

Harris is thought to have painted the mural on the wall near Shoreham Street in the city centre after a previous piece of his artwork in Sheffield had been destroyed.

The previous work was painted at Sheaf Valley Swimming Baths in 1972, but the pool was demolished in 1991."

Clearly SCC were ahead of the game in 1991 when they demolished the Sheaf Valley pool in 1991. Knocking it down because Rolf Harris had opened it and done a painting there.

Yeah, but times change. Isobel doesn't know what Caravaggio got up too.

Can't they just paint some prison bars over the picture and some arrows on his shirt?
