  1. Hi. Can anyone reccommend a good financial advisor in Sheffield. Looking to take out a mortgage with a good deposit to put down.
  2. It has been a big problem in rotherham for a while. I know this due to my "professional* role some years ago. The police were investigating for some time before the arrests. Thank god they got it right this time.
  3. I've recently separated from my partner and this will be the first time spent apart at xmas. I don't really do the festive thing but also don't fancy spending it with my immediate family if I can avoid it. Anyone got any suggestions or know of anywhere that caters for single people who want to get away from all the festive stuff?
  4. We found him!!! But not in Meersbrook. We had a call today saying that he'd been found in a garden at Ranmoor. How the hell he'd managed to get there without being flattened i don't know. Thanks for all the replies and offers of keeping a look out
  5. Our much loved family pet got out of the house today. he has not done this before. He is a cross between a cairn terrier and a golden crested chinese hence he only has hair on his head and back- the rest of him is bald. We live in the meersbrook area of Sheffield and he is regularly in Meersbrook park. There will be a reward available if anyone returns him. thanks in advance
  6. My daughter attends the school and yes there have been problems in the past but I know the school are trying to address issues. This video does very little to help the school. Although he has been excluded, it does nothing to help the other hardworking students who are making progress.
  7. I was reliably told once that a Lancastrian is the result of an incestuous union between a Yorkshire sheep farmer and one of his flock!!!
  8. Thanks for all this. He's now started rolling on it before stalking. I have to admit, it's better than TV
  9. Hi just looking for a little advice/explanation. Our pooch will only eat dried dog food but he has a habit of picking one of the buscuits and running into the living room, jumps around near it as if he is stalking it and then repeats the process with another buscuit. It's funny but does anyone have an idea why he does it?
  10. Hi i've got quite a few pictures from the site. I can just about remember some of the shops etc. It's funny remembering the flats going up and watching them coming down!!
  11. Oh god, I thought it was just us. Yes, ours is slow one minute/day then fast the other. i find it is slower in the evening than any other time. One day, we couldn't get anything up at all. there was a thread on here saying that the Virgin service was totally inadequate for Sheffield. I kind of think that this is true
  12. Karen I spoke to my parents today and they do remember the Lyceum and possibly you parents- they believe they knew my grandmother quite well
  13. Thanks for the reply Karen-sorry it wasn't sooner as the computer has been on the blink. My grandmother and mum used to live in one of the old yards- Beatrice Baker. don't know if the name rings a bell. I've got lots of pictures of me as a baby in this old yard and I can just about remember it as we left when I was two.
  14. This is a bit of a long shot but does anyone have any information about the old back to back terraces before the Kelvin flats were built. I'm interested about King James street and anyone who has any memories of the street or people who used to live there.
  15. Godd god!!! i used to deliver the milk with bob on a saturday. Seven quid and two ham butties- all the milk or orange juice you could drink!! I often wonder where he is now. Had a big thing about golf and used to wear golfing clobber as he delivered milk. the snuff was a problem as he'd eat his butties and there would always be gobbets of snuff fuelled snot dripping into it!!!!
