  1. I don't think you can count walking down a steep hill as proper exercise, walking up it maybe. Or cycling up it
  2. Ah, thanks, it wasn't on there last time I looked! I was hoping he would be carrying it in his local area, Hillsborough. I would have gone to watch him since its on my way home, but otherwise, I'm not bothered about the Olympic flame.
  3. Is John Burkill still carrying the flame? And if so, which stretch of the route is he covering, does anyone know? I have looked on the official website at the list of torch bearers for Sheffield and he does not appear on there.
  4. I think very small (toy) dogs can behave worse, some people don't put as much effort into training them because they are seen as not dangerous, so they don't need to bother. I believe Staffies can be great family dogs. However, breeding for aggression and a minority of bad owners have given the breed a bad name.
  5. I know its a long shot whether he is a member of the forum or if anyone knows him, but I would like to thank the man named Dave who helped me yesterday when I had an accident. I didn't get the chance to thank him properly, all I know is his name and that his silver car was broken down at the side of Penistone Road early yesterday morning.
  6. I have my 1995 MGF on Classic Car insurance with Lancaster, they insure some 'modern classics'. I only have the one car, its not garaged and I'm insured fully comp for £440 With a regular insurer it would cost nearly £2K, so I'm happy; I got the car I wanted for ages and its in my favourite colour
  7. Still half the price of the cheapest one at Halfords, £7.99 for a litre, I bought some last week.
  8. No, I use the roundabout correctly, approaching in the inside lane then staying to the inside, and indicate as necessary. These people are entering the roundabout and going straight on along Penistone Road, cutting in front of me. I've kind of got used to it now and look out for them.
  9. The roundabout at Leppings Lane used to scare me when I was learning to drive. Now I'm used to it, but lately I have found myself being extra cautious; some drivers just don't obey the highway code basics. I turn right on the roundabout onto Leppings Lane, and find myself having to brake when drivers come sailing straight across in front of me., even though I was already on the roundabout and indicating correctly I have seen the aftermath of two accidents there recently, one minor, one quite bad.
  10. I've been sleeping really badly lately, its just too noisy here. Traffic, house alarms, police sirens, bin lorries and street sweepers and noisy drunk people; they all wake me up I'm a really light sleeper, tried ear plugs but it doesn't help.
  11. I've seen the banners on certain websites, it shows a 4x4, an old Vauxhall Astra, an 'old school' mini and a sports car. I wouls only consider selling the Astra on there, all the others have a particular market, certain people would probably pay a lot more that WBAC would ever offer for them.
  12. I now have an update on the situation. For a few weeks afterwards, I had no pain from the front filling, then it became sensitive to hot and cold. Since then I have had to drink through a straw, plus I have overly sensitive teeth at the back too (also due to fillings) so I have to manouvere hot and cold food/drink around my mouth to avoid the offending areas. I am still experiencing sensitivity nearly a year later, I don't think this is normal. I am going for my 6 month check up next week, last time (July 2010) the dentist told me to wait a bit longer, see if the sensitivity settled down, but it hasn't, even though they 'bonded' the back one, it hasn't made a difference. And now I am experiencing an intermittent throbbing pain in my front tooth, its also painful if I knock it with my other teeth or on a glass. Looking on the internet, these two problems, along with the sensitivity, are possibly signs that I might need a root canal.
  13. I think the woman had a moment of extreme stupidity, it was wrong of her to put the cat in the bin, but I don't think the public reaction was entirely warranted, like the death threats she received. There are a lot of worse individuals out there who abuse and neglect animals and other people in some terrible ways.
  14. My local Co-op are always putting the offer signs up before they've started. A few times I've gone to the till with, for example Pringles which are supposed to be BOGOF and been charged for both. When I asked, they just said "oh, the offer doesn't start until tomorrow" so I end up leaving without them.
  15. I shop at ASDA and Morrisons, mostly Morrisons at the moment, because I can't be bothered to drive to ASDA. I think the prices are about the same anyway, so I save money on petrol going to Morrisons. I always look for stuff thats on offer or reduced, theres usually an alternative product thats a bit cheaper if you're not too fussy. I like Morrisons' meat too, I like their butcher's range, you can buy smaller quantities so its cheaper and doesn't get wasted. I buy a small packet of diced turkey thigh to use in my slow cooker for a curry or casserole, its only about £1.50.
