Wheelie Bin Cleaner MegaThread
Hessian32 replied to talkalot's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Sorry to restart an old thread but does anyone have the details of a bin cleaner who is currently trading and would visit S7 area? -
I have a safe and loving forever home to offer 2 kittens, please pm me if you have any available for adoption. Thanks.

I can assure you that this is NOT true. It used to be the case, now schools have a special code with which to record absence on bad weather days so it doesn't count against the attendance rates. I have travelled for 2 hours in the snow to teach a class that only had 4 children in it. The remaining 23 children (who all lived in walking distance) didn't bother coming in. That afternoon I left school at 3:30 and didn't get home until 19:45. Most teachers struggle in regardless IF school is open.

I have lived in Sheffield for 10 years and I've never heard of this before, or noticed it until I recently started working in the city centre. Clearly I have been hearing it only once on each lunch break then, though I could have sworn it goes off more often... Many thanks.

Lately there seems to be a very loud, high pitched noise like some kind of alarm occurring regularly in the city centre. I hear it several times on most lunch breaks. Does anyone know what this might be? Thanks.

Secondary catchment areas map?
Hessian32 replied to Hessian32's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Thank you jgharston, that is really helpful. Even though they are outline maps it is easy enough to search rightmove by primary school. I will be bookmarking that page! -
I have been several years in a row, it's very nice and well worth the entrance fee IMO. Do get there earlier rather than later though, as it does get very busy.

I'm looking into moving house quite shortly and need the new house to be in a decent catchment area. I'm finding it very difficult to search on rightmove etc as I can't find any information to show how the catchment area borders lie. So far all I can come up with is going to the council website here and checking each house one by one (it doesn't work half the time anyway). https://eduplugins.sheffield.gov.uk/schools/catchments.aspx Does anyone know a better way? For example catchment area maps? Thanks in advance.

Blimey. Almost! £20-25k should cover it So much? I was thinking more along the lines of 15k!

However, you probably dont want to have to pay out for drawing work to realise you cannot afford the build. This is exactly want I want to avoid, or wasting anybody's time getting them out to have a look if I have wildly underestimated my budget. I would be extremely grateful for any estimate just to give me a rough idea, and promise not to hold anyone to anything, honest!
-
Hi all, I realise that I would have to have the site inspected for a proper estimate but I am considering extending into my attic and need a ballpark figure to see if it's a viable proposition. Could anyone who does this kind of work or anyone who has had similar work done give me a rough idea of cost please? I am looking to make 1 bedroom in a three hipped roof 30s semi. Would need a permanent staircase and building regs approval. 2 Velux windows, or 1 velux and a rear facing dormer, though I suspect this will be too expensive. Any information gratefully received!

Perfect, thanks
