  1. Aww bless i hope she gets better soon, i have two roborovskis who had some mites when they were a couple of weeks old. they didnt lose any hair but were scratching like mad. you can buy a flea/mite spray which will soon clear them up if they come back again. When she hopefully gets better try using a little cardboard tub filled with chinchilla sand, it helps to get rid of the grease in their skin, my two absolutley love their little baths and there isnt a mite in sight
  2. we have four, one called big mac, buzz, bugsy and pesci (after bugsy malone and joe pesci)
  3. its the worst thing about owning pets you share the best memories with them and then they go to rainbow bridge..., and yet never having them is even worse because you never get the chance to experience what everyone whom owns a pet has... I don't think i can even explain how much of an emotional rollercoaster it is to own a hamster or any pet. even now i still cry when I lost my other Dwarf hamster Sprite three years ago. Although we have them for only a little but emotion filled time... the memories we shared will last and keep them alive forever :')
  4. I did get them from you Ami_J i tried to send you some photos but my computer wouldn't let me i tried to find you again on forum but on search it didn't come up with your name. I can't thank you enough for the joy of having your little hammies, i had one dwarf hamster called Sprite that was from a pet shop she lived for two years but we never knew her age as the pet shop didn't know and she was in a cage that was on the floor on her own i had to take her... she sparked my interest to rescue more hamsters so when i read your post after she had died i knew they would be able to fill a little hole that sprite had left they could never replace her just like my robrovski's and chinese dwarf hamsters can never replace peanut and pepper x thanks again so much x abbie
  5. I'm going to tell you about my two little angels peanut and pepper, they were winter white dwarf hamsters. They were sisters born on 24th april 08, they both had tumours and peanut passed away on march 28th of this year shortly before her 2nd birthday, pepper passed away yesterday I remember the day I went to pick them up from a member of the sheffield forum, they were a litter of eight, four boys and four girls, i chose the two that were the first two my eyes fell upon and just my luck having them to be the fastest.. we left and on the journey home in the car me and my mum were thinking of names for them. I knew from the moment i said Peanut and Pepper it worked and it suited them perfectly. they slept and played together but then one morning they both had a fight Peanut had cuts all over her stomach and both of them were startled. I was so worried and I dove in with my hand and picked up Pepper. She didn't like this and took a chunk of skin out of my finger, looking at my scar I think of it as a sign that whenever i think about them I have a mark of them as a part of me. they then had to be separated. Peanut developed a tumour and lived with it for three months after endless trips to the vets. Pepper developed one a week after losing peanut and managed just over two months...:'( i'm writing this with tears in my eyes and i just want to say thank you to peanut and pepper for being two of the best hamsters i have ever owned, i will cherish the memories i had with you always and i know that you are happy playing on your fluffy white cloud together again peacefully surrounded by my other darlings that are no longer with me but still in my heart... rest in peace my beautiful angels i will love you and remember you forever good night and god bless peanut and pepper x x x x x x x x x x x
  6. pepper was so sweet the same as her sister peanut and just like your midge, both of them had tumors and we knew it was coming, i will always cherish the memories i had with them although there isn't enough. they will be missed greatly and i'm sure they will be looked after playing about together on a fluffy white cloud, though they're still with us in our hearts :') x x x
