  1. we got a pci card for the computer and a camera, so we could view real time, record all the time or have it on motion detect so it only records if something moved. Very good picture even at night.
  2. If you pull the washer out you should see the water pipes that connect to the back of it, on the pipes should be 2 little taps one blue and one red ( some only have one blue one it depends if your machine is cold fill only) turn the taps so that the handle crosses the pipe and then the water is off, unplug the machine and bobs your uncle. If you have the removal bolts that came with the machine then put those in to hold the drum fixed until you come to plumb it back in again.
  3. Terry went to Skegvegas and came back just before Christmas to visit the pub, (think he mised it) Not sure whether or not another food pub would be a good idea with all the others in the area unless it was a bit different and didn`t serve all the cheap processed junk that most seem to. I went up to the fairways recently but a member of staff biting a nail put me off
  4. We used these although not for our cats, i wouldn`t use them for the purpose they were designed for. We used them for our old dog who had worn away all her claws almost down to the nerve by dragging her back feet. We glued them onto the affected nails and let her wear them away instead of hurting herself, they needed replacing every few weeks but as she had them only on a couple of nails on each back paw they worked out not too expensive. i`ve got some more now that my other old dog is doing the same.
  5. I`m having driving lessons at the moment but i can honestly say that i don`t really want to drive. It going to be neccasary tho because with the way the busses are going i won`t have a job if i continue to use them. If the bus service was better and more reliable and cheaper i would never consider lessons but there are only so many times you can use the "my bus was late" excuse or it hasn`t even turned up. It would be nice if we had more tram routes in Sheffield too.
  6. I`ve just been told he`s gone this afternoon to what should be a new home. Apparently the owner has been told about some people who are trainers/breeders and train dogs up for the forces before they go to permanent handlers, she met them earlier and one of the things that helped her decide was the fact that he liked them and another was that they put him through some little tests and he was really responsive and enjoyed it all. I`d like to find out a little bit more about them myself so i`m waiting now for some info on who/where they are etc.
  7. Thanks Strix for editing the title, i know what you mean moonbird if he didn`t like the van it should be something that could be overcome quickly with the right approach, i suspect he knew he was going. Never mind , everything happens for a reason and this may mean there`s a better home for him somewhere else hopefully. I`m going to see if someone can get a pic to me later although i suspect it`ll take a while, i`ll post one if i`m sucessful.
  8. Bad news After saying he was ideal the police went back the next day with a van to collect him and he wouldn`t get in it so they wouldn`t take him! Apparently he likes to go in the car so he either didn`t like the look of the van or he knew he was being taken away. So once again 18 month old gsd needs a new home! The owner has more or less decided that rather than share him he needs a permanant loving home with a lot more space than he has now so please everyone keep him in mind. In answer to your question Strix the owner approached the police i believe.
  9. Good news!!!! The police want him, they went out to see him yesterday and they are going back to pick him up today!! Thanks for all your help everyone
  10. Thanks everyone for all your help and the pms with even more help and advice offered, i`m passing it all on to the people concerned. It`s awful that the breakup of a family can lead to something like this and it`s good to know that there are so many people who care. I`ve just been told that the police are very interested in him and are going out to see him later on this week so with a bit of luck he will have both a new home and also a job to look forward to, i`ll let you know how he gets on and if they decide to take him - he may just be too soft but you never know. Alirosdan keep an eye on this thread and i`ll update it with the latest news in case they don`t take him and you still want to consider it, i`d take him myself but i really would struggle with three as i`ve already got two, one of ours was a recent addition from a rescue and they`re getting on really well so far, it`s just the cat that we need to keep an eye on as the cat is top dog in our house
  11. I believe she`s somewhere around the Dinnington area but i`ll have to get hold of the girl at work to make sure. At the moment i`m waiting to see if she`s going to consider sharing him with someone else.
  12. i`ve just spoken to the girl at work and she`s going to find out later today. It does seem like the ideal thing to do if she can because apparently he is the biggest softest most loving thing going and it would be a shame for him to lose his family through no fault of his own, he just gets bored and likes to chew
  13. I`m posting for a relative of a girl who i work with who has had an unfortunate change of circumstances. She is now living in a flat with her kids and no longer has the room or the time for her 18 month old german shepherd dog and so she is now looking to rehome him. He MUST go to a good permanent home with a family who can give him the love and attention he needs. He is microchipped and trained and good with people, he is also bored as he now has to be left as his owner now works and he has started to chew things up. If anyone thinks that they could be the person she is looking for or knows someone who is then please get in touch. I will check back over the next few weeks so if anyone has any questions i`ll pass them on.
  14. Crikey i didn`t realise that things were so bad in Sheffield!! Can anyone recommend one nearby then perhaps Rotherham?
  15. Hi can anyone recommend to me a dampproofing firm with whom they`ve actually had dealings and are happy with all aspects of work thats been done and also who are reliable? I would prefer it if anyone who can would pm me rather than reply on the board, i was supposed to be having some work done by one company who have missed 3 different appointments all with lame excuses, i can understand one or at a push even two but THREE!!!! the work is to be done internally and i`m sick of living in a bedroom as the downstairs is masked up and the furniture that remains in the rooms isn`t acessible at the moment, myself and my family are understandibly stressed out at the moment. To make matters worse i paid up front to get a small discount on the work to be done and this morning when they didn`t turn up yet again i`ve had to put it all in the hands of a solicitiors. I`m now skint and need the work doing fairley quickly so that i can get back to leading a normal life.
