I know this is a long shot , but if anyone has two spare tickets for this I would be interested. Residential status - lives in a house.

I think the timings being bandied about are absolute rubbish. I was there, It was all over by 10pm both nights. Im guessing i live closer to The Masons than the visitor to wickersley, and as such could only hear a slight murmur of the resonating bass. Certainly not 78db worth and nowhere near enough to 'rattle the windows' or cause any discomfort at all. Lets face it, that statement is complete rubbish coming from a spiteful, petty spoilsport. It was a one off event, carried out to the letter of the local authorities rules. Get over it and get a life.

Anyone know of an Italian takeaway, that's real Italian, as opposed to a pizza shop.

Many moons ago I was short listed for a reviewers position with the good curry guide, Nirmals was one of the sites I had to review, my guest for the evening? It was supposed to be my new boss, however we also had the 'pleasure' of a quite whiffy rhino wearing a sari giving it the hard sell on poppadoms and Indian mango.

protests in town 8/6/13
CaptainChaos replied to Modernsoulman's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
So it would appear then its the all saintly anti fascist mob that have created mayhem - again. Strange how its the EDL get the blame. Let them get on with it, lay the wreath and the whole thing would have been over by now - Peacefully too. -
You're a mile out and I'm not prepared to divulge figures.

It is a sad fact that Not just Sheffield but The test of south Yorkshire rate restaurants on cost alone. If you also get a piled up plate for next to nothing that's even better, quality is not really an issue to most. I would always pay for quality. The bar and grill opened and was run by a total incompetent. The original manager was clueless as to costs and profits, and the chef wouldn't know how to make a profit if it came and kicked him up the arse. By the time all this came to light the place was on its knees. Like I said its a pity but it's happened entirely down to incompetence.

To be fair it was Mis-managed from day 1. The original manager and chef were clueless, and by the time their inadequacies were noticed the place was on its knees. It's difficult recovering from such a deficit, add to that the fact the whole concept was based around other grill restaurants, and the owner was quite proud of the fact that he had ripped off their idea, and it looked like part of a chain, it never really stood a chance. If insolvency hadn't arrived, the legal boys from the blackhouse chain would.

Bar and Grill on Leopold Sq gone tits up. Place has been cleared. I feel sorry for the staff. Sign of the times. It's a pity. Sheffield needs independent restaurants.

I'd go for the London Club or bar and grill.

I am 9 years old today

I spent years in London doing the same, hanging off a tube train strap at 07.30, on my way home from the candy box. -
Women over 50 should not wear short skirts
CaptainChaos replied to Anglersvista's topic in General Discussions
Age shouldnt be a restriction on a mini skirt, figure definately. If the figure can carry it, why not. Jesus, Ive seen some sights round sheffield recently. Im convinced some of these get dressed in the hall of mirrors. Only using the ones that make you look super slim of course. I dont really want to see baggy arse cheeks dangling out from under the hem of a micro skirt. Before this brings the 'you sexist git' comments, I dont want to see old blokes wearing teen gear either. -
Compensation for damage caused by potholes
CaptainChaos replied to Exitleft79's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I had severe damage caused by hitting a pothole at speed two years ago. They are not always so evident. After contacting Rotherham streetpride I was directed to a firm of loss adjustors in Leeds whom I believe also look after Sheffield's claims for pothole damage. They were quite clear in how they pay out compensation for damage, and it all revolves round inspection dates. They do inspect roads every three months, as long as the damage occurs within that three month period they have no need to pay any compensation, the road I had a problem on was inspected 6 weeks before, although in the next six weeks was subjected to heavy snowfall, ice and gritting. All factors which wear the surface more than usual, so even after date of damage they had another 6 weeks to repair the pothole, which they did. In short it cost me an alloy wheel, tyre, engine mount, gear box and clutch. Not a cheap do in a Focus ST. By all means yes go ahead and sue. You'll lose. -
A4E and Emma Harrison- MEGATHREAD
CaptainChaos replied to seb-88's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
All 4 Emma is a truly parasitic organisation. Ive had experience of people coming for interview from there, and to say they arrive under prepared, under qualified, and its a shame to say completely dis heartened is somewhat of an understatement. I spoke to one of the ones who I actually employed, and she said they spent days doing nothing at all other than waiting for tutors to start various training modules, any attempts at job searches using computers was severely restricted, thats if they were working, newspapers, magazines etc all out of date, and any assistance non existent. In short A4E were providing a creche type service for the unemployed. I really hope they do take Emma Harrison to task, except they wont, she will hide behind some poor sods who had the misfortune to believe the balls she talks. A bit like Rupert Murdoch did.
