  1. i went with work at the end of november, wasn't exactly very full on a friday night which worried me..... but.... the service was excellent and the food even better.
  2. all been good this year after last years nightmare. I will miss standing for hours at woodseats depot in the freezing cold. Had a delivery sunday morning at 9am, luckily i was watching match of the day so was up (for a change).
  3. on my way to work yesterday i saw something like that at abbeydale industrial hamlet, did a double take myself but just put it down to being an unusual looking heron.
  4. not to swerve even further from the original post.......... but........ The internet has completely killed music, it was great 6/7 years ago a great way for a band to get their stuff out there, but with that came the i anyone can record any old song and put it out there. They built us up and knocked us down. Here's some more list action Dave Woodcock & the dead comedians goatleaf unseen wires
  5. OK man. Avida Dollars Jack & The Beanstalks The Yell Steel Trees Girl Spit Wooderson Fallen Trees
  6. what band do you play in man?? There are a lot of great bands round Sheffield, a couple mentioned above, but unfortunately most are over looked for bands who sound like a large percentage of this lot just because they are different and aren't 21 with nice hair. Nothing against these here, more to do with people who watch music, there's more out there, dig deeper.
  7. ah, a list of bands who pretty much all sound similar and can be pigeon holed in the same place, arctic monkeyesque sheffield bands...... Heebie jeebies are bob on though.
  8. ciao on abbeydale road specialise in mod cuts apparently, they guy who owns it has a great scooter an all.
  9. What are you're opening times, i can't get down in the day and this thread has made me hungry!
  10. The Crem is a great pub, a great music venue too. Just because it's not brightly lit and charging nearly £4 a pint does not make it a dump. Always got nice friendly people in and a good laugh.
  11. All hail to you sir. I moved house at the start of the year, i had lots of boxes from moving and new stuff for the house, i broke them down and folded them up as much as possible, i put them out on bin day and watched the bin men look at it, he jestured to the driver and he shook his head. I ran out and asked what the problem was and he said "too much"....... too much recycling, surely not, what would Al Gore say?? Anyway i offered to give them a hand and picked it all up myself, they said they couldn't take it... i gave them a few choice words and the lady at violia. Bloke down the road offered to take it to the recycling in his van, took us about 10 seconds to load it.... i feel sorry for them weak and feeble bin men.... all four of them.
  12. I'm pretty sure the white lion is a boozer and at that a blokes boozer..... Wooden floor, decent beer, pool table, jukebox, dartboard and seating. Since when did you have to dress like you were off for a pims at the ritz to get in. I was in last week, black jeans, tshirt with musical group on it and a pair of trainers.... whats wrong with that, i'm nipping for a beer. White Lion is my favourite pub round here and i cant see them stopping people wearing jeans. Now grey trackie bottoms, they should be banned from been worn outside full stop.
  13. i was walking near the virgin gym before xmas and a group of asain lads were throwing snowballs at a coach then decided to start on me, i turned round at first to say something but when i realised there were about 7/8 of em i carried on, anyway they followed me and continued and i thought they were gonna do me over. Anyway another coach passed and i carried on walking. I'm not a small bloke but it was quite intimidating, i returned that way to the broady and was all set to go over with the 10/15 mates from the pub, but, probably wisely decided not to bother. I think the last few posters are completely right, as long as the coppers do nothing about it this will continue and i think it will even if they do something. It needs a strong group of people to go in there and make it clear that the behaviour stops one way or another. About 8 years ago i lived on Wath Road, i walked up to the bus stop at the cross roads and some looney came flying through the red lights and mounted the kerb in an attempt to hit me with the car, the bloke from the oxfam shop came up and checked i was ok, which luckily i was, i literally had a jump up a wall to get out of the way. The cops found out who it was and nothing happened, even though he deliberately drove his car at me in an attempt to at least injure me. This guy then sat with his car across both lanes and just shouted and screamed whilst cars sat there. Glad i dont live round there anymore, only venture through when i have to.
  14. Already one of the most expensive services in the country, why not up the fares some more. Thought they'd gone on strike Saturday when i waited 20 minutes for a bus to town and then 45 for one back. Congratulations. If the fares go up again it's shanks' pony and bicycle time.
  15. 99% of the time it's royal mail, i get a fair bit of vinyl from the states its been royal mail, unless you've paid extra for special delivery. My last one took ages, said they'd got it but it didn't turn up for ages, mind you this was shortly after xmas when royal mail crawled into it's own bum hole and did nowt for a month. I'd give it a week and try em again, you never know they may try and redeliver it if they ever tried in the first place.
