  1. No trickle vents in the windows (unfortunately?) The mould/condensation is pretty much everywhere, all the time, clearly more visible around windows as you'd expect I guess.
  2. Hi all Our house is a 1950s semi, well insulated, double glazing and I guess suffers from the modern problem of little ventilation and 4 occupants causing excessive moisture in the air in turn causing condensation and mould issues. We have installed kitchen and bathroom extractor fans, we try opening windows to reduce moisture in the air, but to be honest it's not making enough of a difference to eliminate the mould or condensation issue. I'm now pondering what to do next. We had a someone round who suggested installing a PIV system however I've heard mixed feedback on them so unsure whether that's a good idea or not. What I could really do with is an expert coming round and making a series of recommendations to solve the issue however im struggling to find someone to do this sort of thing. So, any ideas, or any contacts you could recommend for me?
  3. We had bumblebees flying into our eaves a few years back, they disappear later in the year and you might have to clear up where they nested but were fairly harmless so lived with it. Last year we had wasps behind the guttering who occasionally came into the bedroom via crack above window, they were evil, just seemed to latch onto you if you walked in the room and stung so we got them sorted out. So my opinion bees = ok, wasps = bad! In terms of your specific issue, assuming there are not too many using the entrance at the moment you could just seal it up... They will find somewhere else.
  4. Its the Australian GP on Sunday, coverage starts 6am, race at 7am. Perfect for sitting in a pub with a nice fry up and cup of coffee watching it I would have thought.... except I can't find anywhere offering this! Does anyone have any idea who might be open and showing it at this time?
  5. No, had 3 viewings the first weekend, 2 offers, and 3 more people wanting to view the next weekend but decided to accept one of the two offers made. There are buyers out there but the property has to be priced right and marketed right.
  6. No viewings in 4 weeks = something about your property that is turning people off. If you post a link we could help by reviewing it. I sold through hatched, took 3 days, got over the asking price, and only cost me £600 rather than £2500 using a high street estate agent.
  7. In case this is of interest http://www.mortgageintroducer.com/mortgages/243004/5/Industry_in_depth/HSBC_expanding_legal_panel.htm#.T31621JaEvA.twitter For the record I'm using a panel solicitor to buy & sell and so far so good, proactive, transparent online tracking, and a good price.
  8. Total gridlock in town and Ecclesall rd. barely moved for 20 mins. Anyone know what's up?
  9. D locks are easily popped by a bottle jack in seconds, so on their own don't make much difference. I do agree that having both d lock and chain is about the most secure you can get... What are the chances of a potential thief having both bottle jack and large bolt croppers?
  10. Might want to check out https://squareup.com/ for something slightly different (and possibly more attractive depending on your requirements)
  11. Heeley Stairparts are excellent - google them
  12. Not got round to it yet and not found anyone who has any feedback, which is a shame because it seems to tick all the boxes.
