  1. https://www.flickr.com/photos/158469756@N07/shares/8sG8gQ I know these are terrible pictures but can anyone help identify this bird? I have never seen this before in my garden. It is about the size of a large Blackbird to medium Wood Pigeon. It had no obvious colour markings mainly black, grey and white in colour. It had some ruffle type feathers around it's head base and a Chaffinch style head (ish)
  2. Talking of reduction in size> COLEMANS Tartare and Horseradish Sauce! You now buy a tester jar (like paint) and go back to buy a larger jar only to find out that, that is now the large jar! So you have to buy 2 jars!:rant::rant::rant:
  3. MachineMart do them https://www.machinemart.co.uk/categories/?search=fan
  4. I'm sure these may have been posted before but I stumbled across them on YouTube, I have never seen them and any thread on Sheffield Trams was 10 years old.
  5. Then of course it all leads to this! https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2000/aug/30/childprotection.society
  6. Not true. If you drive up the hill you will use X amount of fuel. If you freewheel down the hill you will use Y amount of fuel to keep the engine running. If you drive down the hill you will use 0 fuel. So you journey up and down the hill whilst free wheeling will use X + Y fuel. If you journey up and down the hill whilst driving you will use X + 0, or X fuel. X + Y is greater than X
  7. This is true. The engine is being driven by the momentum of the car going down hill, the ECU can see you are not pressing the accelerator so doesn't inject any fuel, there is no need to. If you free wheel in neutral then you need to keep the engine running so you have to inject fuel. If you have an MPG readout on your car you will see it go up to 999MPG whilst going down hill!
  8. Never? Can't be, they have been going for 70 years, a Sheffield Institution. They were only on the Star website the other day!
  9. I will start this from another post. Can we have this all merged please? My Dad took me to Bardwells when I was about 6-7 it took two bus rides from Darnall. I remember the first piece of 'junk' I got then, an old vacuum display calculator from their floor scrapings. It left me fascinated with electronics from then on leading to a Career. I have grown up with Bardwells since then and remember us going there at school lunchtimes from Rowlinson to get bits for projects (you could just make it on the 75 there and back) Reg was so funny. I actually cried this morning when I heard from my sister that they have closed. So sad. RIP Bardies.
  10. Hi RJRB You can buy a Mac Allister SDS drill for around £50 from B+Q. for the money they are fine for DIY and you can keep it for later use. I wouldn't normally recommend cheap stuff like this but I bought one of these years ago and it's fine, just don't get a battery one, mains only. Then either hire or buy a cutter, 112mm as butlers said. Your Bosch will be the usual low level hammer action which won't hack it. You will probably burn it out like I did with my late Dad's trusty Bosch! Just take it steady and frequently dip the tip of the cutter in water to keep it cool and stop it blueing. When you have used an SDS drill you won't go back to a normal hammer drill!
  11. My Grandmas used to put bars of soap in the airing cuboard to make them last longer during the war. When one moved to a home we found a huge stash of dish cloths she had amassed! I know I have a collection of dishcloths somewhere that I have stashed but I cant remember where I have bloody put them!
  12. Are you saying you can core through from the atmosphere side into the void? If so this would be a hell of a lot safer than using a Stihl. Just core multiple holes and put vent inserts in. I think they are around 100mm diameter You can hire core drills and bits from any hire shop, they charge you by the wear on the teeth when you take it back.
