  1. We call that Buckaroo! We have all the sofa cushions, a poker set, most of the pans in the house and had nearly built a house of cards. Good times!
  2. *ahem!* Then again, someone who isn't at least of similar intelligence to me is such a turn off. Luckily that leaves me plenty of choice!
  3. You don't have to back up that smoking costs the NHS more than the tax smoking brings in? If you're going to try and bring facts in, I'm afraid you DO have to back those statements up, especially when other have provided evidence to the contrary!
  4. The question is Sara, where do you draw the line? What pinlady is merely pointing out is that a lot of us intentionally harm ourselves in a variety of ways. Where do you draw the line, no treatment if you head is cut open when you're drunk? they knew the risks when they drank it. No healthcare treatment if you're pregnant (self inflicted!)? They knew the risks when theyn had sex. No treatment for those in road accidents if they're to blame? They knew the risks when the turned the keys. When is it your fault, and when is it not your fault? Yous eem to know everything, you tell me.
  5. I heard that was more about the elelments of the privacy clause that Macca wanted as part fo the deal, not wanting more money.
  6. I've already accepted there are those who do reprehensible things but if you think tarring every child a likely potential criminal which is exactly the message these devices do, you're going to reap what you sow.
  7. Had anyone been watching the 2 minute shorts on the E4 website titled 'the lost weeks' Some are bloody awful acting (Effies and Michelle's, IMO) but as you get nearer the end there's some interesting stuff there. I'm just as in love with Cassie as Sid is now, her episode from season 1 was the one that cemented the show as a good drama in my eyes.
  8. No wonder all these kids act antisocial towards you if you call them scroates. Abuse towards them is just as anti-social!
  9. the first time I went for an evaluation was about 6 years ago and I scared the optician. She was really good, perhaps too good, I guess. I'm a bit squeamish but the contacts were on my eyes in seconds, as I don't seem to ahve an issue with touching my eyes. After that it just got even easier, except for the time you try and put them in hungover, and thats because I'm putting them on inside out. I've never had a problem taking them out, except when in my rush I've poked them into the corner of my eye. The simple truth, IMO, is that if you can touch your eye and not flinch too badly, even if you have to prepare yourself for it, then contacts aren't a problme once you know the routine!
  10. Despite the fact that they can't work and thus earn a living, what you're saying is we shouldn't respect children because they don't contribute to society currently. How are they ever going to grow up and be respected if througout their life they're told they are an evil to society? The point about these devices is that they don't discriminate between law abinding kids who are just hanging out with some friends and those who seek to be antisocial. I'm not condoning antisocial behaviour but all these devices do is widen the gulf between children and society at large. It's just as bad as saying no ethnic minorities, no women, no disabled people. Admittedly a few kids cause trouble but so do lots of other people in a variety of groups. We don't go about intentionally setting up deterrents that cannot discriminate against those who are innocent and those in the wrong because we would say that it is unfair. Why is it diffent with the next generation? After all, if we keep constantly telling all our children they are yobs and a menace to society they ALL might start acting like it, instead of a minority. Lets deal with the causes and not just issue blanket measures to affect all children.
  11. So until you pay tax you have no rights? What a wonderful way to instill self respect in our future generations!
  12. I've seen up to episode 6 and am getting really into it. Ray Wise as the Devil is so good I can't think of anyone else who could play that character. I think Moonlight is right though, Sock is by far the standout character, he's smart, funny but way too much of a slacker to ever be a lead. As for it being formulaic, the first few episodes have been yeah but then the later ones have gone a bit deeper and have tried to shrug off that idea. Whether it'll come to fruition we'll just have to see.
  13. It's not the outlet though and therefore it's a LOT more expensive.
