  1. \sorry you'd be wasting your time and cash if you go into this venture, I am also self employed in the events industry and everything nowadays is about live music, even if a venue can't get a live act, like MBardwell says most places hire DJ's so juke boxes are basically either a novelty or obselete, even the pub where I live next door to, doesn't use their old jukebox, in fact the landlady says she is thinking of sending it back to the company they rent it from as they tend to hire live bands for the weekend and have a resident DJ for the rest of the week. So save yourself some cash and think of another kind of venture, Also if you're seriously thinking of setting up a business you should get yourself signed up to some networking groups, can't tell from your name if you are female or male, as the thing is, if you are female their is a fantastic female only networking group called forward ladies, (Sorry no men allowed) so if you are female maybe you should go along to one of their meetings and network and maybe you could get ideas for a possible new venture
  2. ECDL is better as OCR is rarely recognised nowadays, I have an OCR which is also known as NVQ level 1 and 2 but as I worked for DWP for 4 years that qualification is rarely recognised, and as a self employed employer now I would also advise you go for the ECDL as when I am recruiting staff I too don't go for people who generally only have OCR NVQ's rather than any other qualification. You would be best to invest time and money into a worthwhile qualification rather than a near obselete one, besides things worth doing are often worth doing properley Hope this helps, everyone seems to also see that OCR is an inferior course and opt for the ECDL too.
