  1. Hello again!! Linking in with my other thread - I am also looking for a company we can hire a coach from for the day. We would want picking up in Nottingham around 10am, ferrying to various sites around Sheffield, and coming back to Nottingham maybe 10 or 11pm. Again there would be 50-75 people, ideally we would like everyone to get on the same coach, and again not too expensive!! Any offers or ideas of who to try greatly appreciated
  2. Hi! I'm bringing a load of people over to Sheffield from my new job in Nottingham for a Fun Day, and one of the things we want to do is go out for a meal in the evening - but as you can see there are quite a lot of us!! Can anybody recommend anywhere -preferably in the city centre -not too pricey -that can accomodate all our group? Thanks!!
  3. Trams are quite expensive for the one or two stops from town to the station, best to walk if you have the time; go through the bus interchange and it takes 5 mins, 10 max if you're a slow walker! (depending which bit of town you start in; this is assuming you're near the tram tracks at castle square or ponds forge)
  4. Can I trade you for my fat lump of a cat... she never seems to do much any more!
  5. Bloody scallies, there are quite a few here in Nottingham who insist on riding them round the main roads; god forbid if one of them comes near me when I'm out for a driving lesson, I can't be held accountable...
  6. Pinch, punch, first of the month!!
  7. Its ok if they have your lenses in stock, mine never are But i was impressed with specsavers the other week, i got some presciption sunglasses, and after a few days decided they weren't dark enough. I took them back and they'd darkened them within an hour, all for free
  8. I'm bored... quite drunk (anyone kno any good ways to sober up quick)... my dad is coming in about 3 hrs to pick up someof my stuff....
  9. Noooooooooooo! Theres no need for manuals, unless u get in serious trouble (cant find the on button etc...)
  10. If that happened I'd ring/take it to animal rescue, and make sure I kept comforting it meanwhile. The other week I was in the pub and a woman outside accidentally hit a cat, she rang the rspca and waited til they came, but why didnt she put a blanket on the cat and stroke it to comfort it? Surely it is more cruel to let it leave the world cold and alone?
  11. Yes I have just had to rescue my housemates drunken and supposedly beat-to-within-an-inch-of-his-life boyfriend. I am NOT impressed.
  12. my last day in Sheffield..... and all is not going well, maybe I should just give up now?
  13. Today I was at the shops in Crookes and I saw a chinese man looking very lost with a map... I asked him which road he was trying to find and by coincidence it was my road! It took us about 5 minutes to get there and he was a lovely man, hes moving to England (and Sheffield) with his family, he was asking about the school (lydgate primary), the area in general, buses etc. and I was happy to tell him that he was moving to a lovely place! I left him to find the right house number on his own (didnt want to be patronizing!), although then he stood outside it looking confused so I pointed out that he had to go round the back, it confused me enough for ages too!! And I feel happy for helping someone , I just hope next time I'm looking lost with a map in my hand someone will help me!
  14. well maybe the competition will drive price down on more routes... but maybe not (economist me speaking!)
