  1. I was explaining the reasons behind an observation another poster made. Not making judgements, not advocating one system over another. You were jumping the gun AND being rather rude in your response. As you state, car ownership has increased, and in Sheffield many households now need more than one car, whereas years ago, with excellent and affordable public transport they did not.
  2. When we were kids public transport in to town was more reliable, frequent, and much cheaper. 1970s - 2p everywhere for kids, and 5p/10p for adults for any journey.
  3. Thanks for reply. That's a lot more than I expected.
  4. Sorry, can't help. Thinking of having it done though. How much would 450 off bring it down to?
  5. Hi ramrod. You might find something of interest in the 'What's On' Section, here: http://www.sheffieldchristmas.com/
  6. Bus already stuck at Handsworth. I think it's ok on low ground, but on high ground the main roads are poor.
  7. Avoid East Bank Rd, and Prince of Wales Rd, according to Radio Sheffield.
  8. According to Radio Sheffield, Penistone Rd is closed in both directions.
  9. Only recent update on traffic/roads I can find is this http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/sheffield/
  10. The cameras would indicate that side of town has not been so badly affected.
  11. Nothing here, I'm afraid http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/south_yorkshire/travel_news/news_initiatives/
  12. Still snowing in S8 but not as large flakes.
  13. The traffic cameras are looking a lot different to what they did 10 minutes ago.
