  1. I will check the documents. One of the lights with problem is on the landing (sorry I should have explained properly) and it has three switches controlling it. Therefore I assume the problem cannot be the switches - because all those switches have the same problem (That I have to turn them on and off 4-5 times before the light comes on) They do come on eventually. Very strange...
  2. Hi Jeffrey, this house is 13 years old. Therefore wiring must be done when it was new. I assume there is no difference in wiring...
  3. I have two rooms that I have been having problems with switches. I need to press on and off maybe 4-5-6 times. The lights eventually do come on but never on the first press... Does anybody have idea how I could solve this problems. Many thanks for all the answers in advance....
  4. I have bought a new electric cooker but I didn't come with an electric cable. Could anybody let me know what kind of cable do I need for the electric cooker ? Many Thanks
  5. I have found a firm (They are called Your Survey) on internet for a Home Buyers Report. The price they offer is reasonable. The only catch is they want the payment in advance. Is this a normal practice?? Many Thanks for replies.
  6. I have been reading the posts regarding Oughtibridge. We have seen a house at Riverbank, Oughtibridge and we are interested in buying.. Is there anybody in the Forum know the area? and would it likely to be affected by the flood (because of the river next to it) ? It seems like the south side of the river (at River Bank) is high up.. Many Thanks for any information.
  7. Hi again Steve, Many thanks for your reply. I have constant drip from condensate pipe at the moment (even when the boiler is not operating). There is no discharge from the copper pipe at the mo. I do understand when you say condensate is not a leak. But I feel that the pressure drops because the system lose water through plastic pipe. As I said water from condensate pipe is non stop... Regards
  8. Thanks for the reply Steve. There was a leak from the copper outlet but this has now stooped. All the water is now coming from the condensate waste (plastic outlet). Eventually the system runs out of water in a couple days.. Is this unusual?
  9. My boiler leaks (drains) for no reason from the plastic (outlet) pipe which is connected to the boiler. Then it stops working. I feed fresh water and the boiler starts working again. Then it drains off again within 6-7 hours Any advice?? Many Thanks
  10. Garrance, Thank you very much for your detailed reply. I do appreciate it. My cousin is quite relieved. He will sleep well tonight:)
  11. I know this is an old thread but I have an issue regarding parking: My cousin parked there a year ago. And he received a parking ticket. The he got several warning letters to pay and he just ignored - because we received some advice from Sheffield Forum users that it was just an invoice and not enforceable... Now they found his land line and phoned him. We don't know how they managed to get his phone number..He did not admit anything on the phone but they managed to get some personal details from him. What I would like to know is: Is this bad news for my cousin? Can they legally come to his home address & bother him (confiscate anything)? Can they take him to court? Many thanks for any replies.
