  5. That's not very fair, the guy got up, tried to kick a doorman and told him to f**k off when asked to come down nicely, once he came down he gave the doorman abuse and was removed by the doorman at my request out of the side... his three mates then started on the doorman inside the building, one of these (a second guy who had come over to argue) then pushed the doorman and was removed via the front door very quickly, the others made their own way to the door.. I have had words, but these were more orientated towards why they got in in the first place, not the manner in which the 5 of them were removed to be honest
  6. THanks guys, we weren't really anywhere near capacity on Saturday, the most we had in at one point was about 250, which is a hundred short of our legal capacity figure... Can't really win can I, busy and quick service times is no good, quiet is no good But seriously, apologies if you thought it was too busy, but we operate a very strict capacity policy, with 15 minute clicker reports every Friday and Saturday night...
  7. We're open til 2am actually, as are quite a few city centre bars and if you think I'm making this situation up you obviously have no contacts in the sheffield bar scene at all, as everyone was talking about it, I heard it from a very reliable source and if there were 2000+ people out in town (particularly new to the city freshers) being turned away from a club, shock horror everywhere would have been busier including the forum, the bowery, soyo etc, anyone who reads that post can see that I was asking a question, which was resolved via a reply in less than ten minutes... Also it wasn't me who replied asking you what exact second you walked past, try reading it again... You're starting to bore me now as you're getting a little pathetic and turning a thread about new changes to a venture into a thread about you, guess what, no-one cares, so please stop it, if you get another leasehold anywhere I won't be anywhere near your threads because I have better things to do than make snide pedantic comments... Anyway, hi Kelly, we have all new lemonade and cola (in fact Coca Cola and Schweppes ) and do line cleans on a weekly basis, plus I've recently had the cellar refitted and a new gas system installed hoping to have San Miguel installed in the next few weeks too
  8. For your information I had several other venue managers ask me about that and no-one knew if it was true, so I was genuinely asking as you can see from the way I worded it, and Laura came on and posted the reply because she knew the rumour was going round (and they had definitely received a warning over the capacity issue, hence ther reason that there are some replies to that thread that say yes it is)... then you put some sarcastic comment about worrying about my own venue and guess what, myself and all the other city centre managers would have needed to staff more if one of the largest clubs in sheffield wasn't open, so I was worried about my venue, I didn't put on "I was in embrace last week and it was crap" did I? I even asked a moderator to close the thread once I'd got a reply, anyone who wants to go through my thread history feel free like... you a politician in real life? side stepping and mud slinging in two brief phrases is pretty good work
  9. I really like platillos, good tapas, good service and nice atmosphere, again not really had a sit down meal in there though, Strada I have and it's ok, service speed in Aagrah is very fast (a little pushy maybe when I went but they were full so I can understand it) and the food was good, I also enjoyed Zizzi's... all in all I think the development down there is really good
  10. Thanks guys, the city centre support thing is changing in sheffield, I'm good friends with the guys at the bowery and the basement, as well as knowing the guys at soyo, bungalows, the wick (old dogma), the harley, forum, old house etc, we're all gonna get together soon and carry on the spirit that tramlines kick started! Jamesogt I'm not going to start disecting what you've replied as it's pretty pointless now, think people have seen what you're all about, I'd just like to say I do want to be the best and I do want to be profitable, I just don't go on public forums and slag off competition to achieve this, in the last four years venues I've run have won 5 exposed awards, 3 sheffield bar awards and the 2008 Galaxy Radio Best bar in Yorkshire award, my standards speak for themselves thanks Tykes a G&T is around £3.70, we have a wristband offer at the minute where our flyerers are offering doubles for the price of singles, plus we also have Tom Collins (Gin, fresh citrus and a choice of fruit puree, nice and simple!) on the cocktail menu with the option to have Tanq 10 gin if you're feelin flush
  11. Have I done something to offend you at some point? Just you seem to like coming on here and giving me pretty pointless digs plus you're right we're not very busy on a monday because I refuse to do £1 bottles and on that front I can't compete with cavendish etc, plus apologies that I like to keep things informal, if anyone posting on the forum wants anything on headed paper with proper grammar then feel free to PM me and I'll send you it, otherwise we're having a friendly discussion in a non professional context
  12. I'm a big fan of Pathia with a peshwari naan
  13. You sent one email back in July matey, I wasn't in charge back then, sorry
  14. Well our offers at the minute during the week are: Mondays - fortune cookie, where you can win bogof on any round of drinks Wednesdays - all bombs £1.50 (jagerbombs skittlebombs cherry bombs etc) Tue, Thurs, Sun - Dbl vodka Redbull £3.50, Sol £1.75, Pitchers £10, Jagerbombs £2 Then one of our members cards will get you £100 worth of 2-4-1 vouchers to use as well as £6.50 for two favourite cocktails, £2 Becks Vier pt, 2 meals for £6.50 and a few other rotating offers, these cards can be used every day, even on weekends... So I don't think we price out the students, I just think we attract a different type of student to the stereotype
