  1. I was being sarcastic when I mention the creative genius behind all this!
  2. Oh come on guys, give this thing a chance. We're just seeing the logo in isolation, we're not seeing the whole picture or how it will be used. The new logo is bold and colourful and would work really well on things like stadium billboards and t-shirts. I've written a bit of a blog about my other reactions on my website here But I've got to say i love the 'sex act' observation - priceless!
  3. Shameless advertising, but we might be able to help. Check out our website at http://www.rckt.co.uk Or click on our creativity distilled banner on the forum! Cheers
  4. If you have no luck tracking David down then I'd recommend Max Kennedy at Ashton Morton Slack. he is very good at this sort of thing.
  5. I first came to Sheffield as a bright eyed student in 1992. Drop was already an established feature at City Hall as was Hot Pants. I can't think of anything else that is still going. I'm not sure what's on at the leadmill these days. But back then it was the eighties night on a Wednesday and then 70's on a thursday. I seem to remember Rise starting on a Friday in my 3rd year, so that would be 94/95 ish.
  6. Drive from Bamford every morning and no fixed cameras on that section, in fact a glorious clear drive this morning - no tedious 40 - 45 mph drivers.
  7. Wow another Kings of Convenience fan - great albums. Do you have the remix album they did with lots of scandanavian producers and DJ's?
  8. I've been to seasons a few times and have always really enjoyed it, but I suppose a good indication about the area is before we go we think about what car to use, we chose our old clapped out 2nd car as we don't want to park the other one in that area. We would never stop going just because of the area though. I do think you guys have a visibility issue though, some of this might be solved by a stronger exterior, but the real benefit will come from PR not advertising. You need to form strong relationships with magazines such as Profile, Westside and Exposed. But don't spend heavily on advertising, think about events, themes, a mesaage about what seasons stands for. this all generates interest and a buzz - far better than advertising. For example, your particular 'thing' could be championing good honest british food with local ingrediants and a belief that great food need not be snobbish, exclusive or expensive. I think you guys do something that the French get right but we in the UK still do not do very well. Simple, good value local food cooked with care. Pushing a 'cause' like this will give you a bigger profile.
  9. Artisan in Crosspool don't have a Michelin Star, so your bloke's opinion was spot on! I'm going to sing the praises of Seasons on Abbeydale Rd. Uncomplicated local food at its very best, plus a lovely atmosphere. We;ve been n a couple of times and always been impressed.
  10. The Walnut Club has not got any stars, people are simply falling for the marketing. What on earth is "Michelin aspiring" food? If your food is original, of a high quality then the Michelin guide will award you a star(s). If your not up to standard then they won't - aspiring to be something has nothing to do with it. Fischers and the Old Vicarage are the only places in the area with stars.
  11. Coleman's Deli in Hathersage is lovely. Great coffee and wonderful cookies too!
  12. Did the Edinburh thing a couple of years ago, I thought it lacked a bit of atmosphere. It was just so big with thousands of people crammed into the pen they build on Princes Street. Going totally different this year. We are off to the arctic circle. On a frozen lake between Finalnd and Sweeden. Because of the time diffference your celebrate twice, once in each time zone!
  13. I think it should be painted with huge letters saying that it is a sub-station, to stop endless threads like this appearing every 6 months! Then again that would just bring out the conspiracy theorists, who would claim that it was the government trying to disguise its real purpose. Can't win I suppose.
  14. Great, would it be possible to come over sometime in the evening this week? PM with your details if this is OK. Thank you!
