  1. Starts Thurs 24th May at Forge Valley School S56HG from 6pm - Everyone welcome. First session FREE, £3 for each further session.
  2. Back in 2018 is softball. We are offering mixed (male/female) slow pitch softball for anyone wanting to play on a Thursday evening this summer. The aim is to provide a fun, social, 'anyone welcome' form of the game to start with. Regardless of age, gender, athletic ability or experience we want as many people to come along a create a great start to rebuilding the sport in South Yorkshire. We are currently gathering a list of interested players - so get in touch, whether you've played or not. Sessions will start toward the end of April/ early May and will take place at Forge Valley School S65HG at approx. 6pm (more updates via http://www.sheffieldbladerunners.co.uk) This softball club is being launched by the Sheffield Bladerunners, who already have established adult and junior baseball clubs.   3. After a successful first session, we will now be holding sessions every fortnight from this Sunday 25th between 1030-1130am. Everyone's first session is FREE. So why not give it a try, we're even lowering the entry level to 5 years old.
  4. The Sheffield Bladerunners Baseball Club are launching a brand new youth baseball program. It's a great fun way for kids to get involved in this unique sport, via out 'Tee Ball' activity, which gives boys and girls between 7-14 and chance to hit soft baseballs, runs around the bases and learn to throw and catch wearing real baseball gloves. All our coaches are DBS checked and we'll be following the same format that is used all across America and many other countries, to provide a fantastic introduction to baseball for our potential stars of the future. Our goal is to get as many local young kids involved and evolve the initial 1 hour training session into a local league they can play in. We're offering our first session on Sunday June 4th (10.30-11.30) for FREE, and it will be held at the Bladerunners regular home ground of Forge Valley School S6 5HG, where full training will be provided.   5. After a successful 2016 season, in which the Sheffield Bladerunners Baseball Club reached the National Final, we are back for 2017 and looking for more players wanting to take up the sport. We'll happily train players who have never played before, as our goal is to get as many people as possible to take up the sport.   6. The Sheffield Bladerunners Baseball Club are welcoming new people to come down and try out playing some baseball. We will be holding a 'Taster' session from 1030am to 130pm on Sunday 20th March at Forge Valley School S6 5HG. This will be an indoor session, so will go ahead regardless of weather conditions. This session is open to anyone to come along. All baseball equipment will be provided, just bring suitable clothing and footwear to wear. All the basics will be covered so no experience is needed, for those who have played before we'll have plenty for you too. With 30 years of experience, the Sheffield Bladerunners have developed players with no previous experience and also given an outlet to players who have been looking to continue playing, here in the Sheffield area. Anyone wanting to watch some baseball, right here in Sheffield, feel free to come down and watch this Sunday (27th) and Sheffield's Bladerunners (formed in the 1980's) take on the Manchester A's in the British Baseball Federations Northern Conference. The team plays it's home games at High Green (address details can be found at the team's website http://www.sheffieldbladerunners.co.uk 2 games will be played, with the first starting at midday. If you are new to the sport, facilities are a lot more basic than in the states but the quality of play is of a high standard. Hopefully the weather will be fine, so bring a chair or blanket and come and enjoy an afternoon of baseball. No charge to watch, we'd just love to see you there! hope to see you Sunday.
  11. Another open training session has been arranged for this Sunday (30th) for anyone wanting to get involved and play baseball. Following on from the recent success of the previous training sessions, we are looking to welcome back all the new players who have come out and enjoyed getting into the game of baseball. We would love to see as many additional new faces as possible for this event. The training will take place and the Indoor Cricket Centre and will run from 10.30am to 12pm and will cost £4.   12. no problem about the 16th. Currently we are in our preseason prep. The team head to Harrogate tomorrow for some batting cage practice, then obviously the 16th for the open training session. After that we're still trying to finalise some friendly games prior to the regular season starting on the 13th April. With regards to other training, we've been training winter indoors but are now looking for a break the British weather and for the evenings to become lighter. Then we will be training all summer outdoors midweek as well as pre game training on home gamedays.   13. not at all, everyone is welcome. It would be true to say we don't currently have any females on the current roster, however this is the first time this has been the case in well over 15 years. We welcome anybody who wants to learn, play and enjoy baseball. We strive to make baseball welcoming and enjoyable, while still maintaining a winning attitude.
