My band “I Am The Engineer” would like to do some acoustic gigs and give away some Cds so does anyone know of an open mic nights in Sheffield i.e. the name of the pub/bar/venue what day they are on what we need do bring? If they are any good? Anything would be a start. Thanks Matthew

Hi my name is Matthew I'm putting on a gig on the 23rd of November at The Cremorn on London Rd and I'm looking for one last band. If you think that your good enough to play headline and your available the chance is there! the bands that are playing are The Child - a Kiss / Spinal Tap Crotch Rock band that play there owns songs in the style that everyone can enjoy. I am the Engineer - Rock / Acoustic outfit that sound like a cross between Finch and Brand New Hopewood - who Describe themselves as Indie / Rock inspired by jimmy eat world and snow patrol so you decide so you would probably have to be a rock type band if you are interested drop me a message or reply to the post and I give you some more info any takers?

hey I'm interested in finding the right coach I'm in a band which plays melodic rock some parts of songs I sing quite softly and others I have to shout / sing loudly however I dont do any of that screaming crap that sum bands do. how do I find the right coach?

So it looks like I was away for a hole day and you all had a massive “debate” and didn’t invite me. I do actually have experience of taking photos and Iv read a lot of books about low level light photography but I don’t want to just take live photos and go “oh that a quite good live photo” I want people to go “F**K ME that is awesome how did you do that”? Well I would understand if people think that the Sheffield music scene is now filled with monkey rip offs and pretensions indie ******** but if anyone wants to meet up and compare photos or go see some local bands or come down and take some photos of my band feel free to drop a post or send a PM. Thanks chaps for the wealth of knowledge you have given me.

Is anybody here a member of the Sheffield Photographic Society? I was interested in joining to get some more experience at photography and to meet up with people who have similar interests. But one thing I really wanted to get more experience of is live band photography as music is my passion above all things, and they didn’t seem to cover anything like that. any thoughts?

That’s right I'm back with an update on my whole looking for band peoples bit. I have a drummer Whoop! I have a rhythm guitarist Wicked!! I have a bass and I sing Fantastic!!! And that’s it Now I just need that elusive lead guitarist. A man or woman (I’m no sexist) who can smash the f**k out of a guitar on stage and some how manage to make it sound as though angels are descending upon your ears at very high intensities of volume. Here are some interesting facts out us. The name of our band is Nothing Escapes.... We have our own practice room All you would need to do was bring your guitar and a plectrum and show us what you can do as we have everything you need at practice room. We have at the moment a combined age of 69 (that’s 22 + 23 + 24 = 69). Our influences come from many different artists and bands as we like everything from Dizzy Rascal to Circle Takes the Square and Pendulum to Open Hand We sound a bit like Brand New or Finch but with more acoustic bits. You can find us on MySpace but we only have a very ruff totally acoustic version of one of our songs on there so please don't take that as the be all and end all of what we can do. if you are interested PM me

Yo my mate and I started a band about a year or so ago and have been having troubles with drummers for a long time. Now feeling a little bit down about out progression in resent months we are in search of a new drummer and a lead guitarist to help push us forward. We have quite a few songs already but we are always open to new ideas. Anybody interested?
