Do the voices in my head bother you?
  1. Thanks very much, I'll pass on the info. N
  2. Does anyone know if the kennels for strays are still at Spring Street please? I've just been asked by someone wanting to donate food and bedding but I can't seem to find any info. When I search it does bring up a web address for Sheffield dog rescue but the site doesn't seem to be working. Thanks Nyx
  3. None in Frecheville either. It's been off for a good while now. Does anyone know what road the burst is on?
  4. I've had two composite doors fitted in the last three months. First one was from the external door company which although was OK I wouldn't use again. The address of the company keeps changing I've noticed, its gone from Penistone Rd, to Carver St to Limestone Cottage Lane. For the second identical door which was a lot cheaper I used Carl Haddock Installations from Thornbridge Drive in Frecheville. Wish I'd known he did composites before I had the first one fitted, he also adjusted the first door for me which had started to catch a bit. I can recommend him, did a great job! N
  5. Does anyone know what has happened at or near Gleadless townend? OH just called to say that white lane is now closed and that there are lots of police and that the helicopter is there too N
  6. Try these from an ironmonger in Halifax They are anti pick, anti drill, anti snap and anti bump, delivery takes a few days and it took me a couple of minutes to fix them to the doors. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BS-Euro-Cylinder-Anti-Snap-Bump-Drill-Pick-High-Security-UPVC-Door-Lock-Barrel-/320857938633 N
  7. I can only echo Old tups post its absolutely spot on. N
  8. We changed over to Origin fairly recently and I had only heard about them after searching on here for something else, our speed was variable before with lots of dropouts and slowed to a crawl at busy times. I'm more than happy with Origin. I got the lowest priced package at £17.50 per month and the speed is around 23meg with no data caps. I only had to call them once and got a no nonsense reply with no automated rubbish to go through first-just a normal friendly guy on the phone that knew what he was talking about. I am so pleased that I changed my landline over to them not long before Christmas. Its nice to hear a local accent on the other end of the phone when you do call and its nice to deal with a local company. I've recommended them to others who will look to switch when their current contracts expire as and I really hope that they do well. I don't think I've been able to praise any other company that I've dealt with for quite a while so well done to them! N
  9. Would they be in good enough condition to freecycle? Everyone is a winner that way, even if they arn't good enough to go in a house wardrobes make for great storage in sheds and garages. N
  10. Just wondering if there was anyone who had used this garage more recently? My MOT is due shortly and i was looking for somewhere closer to home, the older reviews seem good and i'm hoping that this is still the case. All opinions welcome please N
  11. Crikey this is bad news for us, we have spent the last few years turning a hard landscaped garden that had lots of standing water when it rained into somewhere green and have started to actually grow some food. We have two composters that are almost full and no room for a third. If the new service that replaces the old one costs then we will not be able to use it. We have different jobs than before and earn a lot less but just manage to scrape by, bit scary sometimes though. Looks like the hedge will have to go and be replaced by pallet fencing as and when we can get some. The grass will probably have to go too and the nice green area will once again be paved - good job that we saved the stones. I refuse to consider fly tipping but it is a shame that the area that took a lot of time and effort to turn into something half decent will end up looking like something from a warzone. I love all the birds and insects that have been moving in and we even had some bees living in the garden last year Such a small thing will have a huge impact N
  12. Someone that i know has an enormous library at home complete with the ladders that slide around the room Same person also has a massive garden complete with swimming pool (google earth tells lies you know) and his dad owns all the classic cars that are in the television program Heartbeat I have a feeling that quite a few people may recognise these lies and be howling N
  13. Op sorry that your daughter has been relieved of her phone, on the plus side at least she was not injured in any way. For those in doubt that a phone could be lifted from a zipped pocket within a bag i can tell you that this is very possible. I have seen this happening with my own eyes and was stunned by the skill of the people involved, also they are not usually alone and work in a team - often surrounding the person who is the target without their knowledge in an attempt to block other shoppers view in a crowded area. She will most likely have been seen with the phone and targeted in the same way that these people watch for atm withdrawals and target people for their wallets. N
  14. I make my labels in word and cut them out, i glue them on using the WHS equivalent of a pritt stick. Works perfectly. N
  15. I think that the people who are affected are ringing up about it but i`m not sure about reference numbers, they did say that police visit sometimes but just leave them be as there are only usually 2 police and lots of youths. Apparently the police have been thrown in the pond before now. I`ll be out on my day off later this week and will go by there to see if there is anyone out to speak to and mention the reference numbers. Thanks N
