  1. Not sure on exact costs but I doubt you will get anything cheaper than £100 per person. They do have different deals which are cheaper. Like a buffet in the bar and decent seats. This will still be up near £100 I reckon though. I don't think it's good value at all to be honest. I've done it through work a few times in the past. Average food, no atmosphere and having to wear a shirt and trousers.
  2. Did a good job of my roof a couple of years ago. No problems.
  3. I've been in the steel industry for over 20 years and this has been the toughest year I can remember. This is purely down to the oil price. Job losses everywhere this past few months. Short time for many and we are very close to losing a couple of local firms at least I've just returned from the bi-annual Oil & Gas exhibition in Aberdeen. All doom and gloom with next year expected to be worse. BP didn't even turn up which sent ripples through the industry. Major player Schlumberger have laid off over 20,000 worldwide. Norway itself has lost 15,000 this year in the industry. Loads more disappointing stories. Tough and worrying times for firms within the oil and gas industry.
  4. I had the polystyrene type block insulation put in my cellar ceiling then plasterboard over the top. Remember to run it flush with the bottom of the joists allowing air flow under your floorboards.
  5. Istanbul barber shop on London Road. Opposite Ozmen supermarket and just down the road from the Cremorne pub I've been going for years and have shaves regular. Just turn up and you shouldn't have to wait longer than half hour max. It will be less than a tenner. Fully recommend.
  6. http://www.yellowarch.com Yellow Arch studios have recently developed a venue for gigs/parties etc. a really cool place. A friend is having their 50th there in a couple of weeks They are at neepsend. Not far from Kelham Island.
  7. I'll drop you an email soon Jeffrey ;-) Thanks Shane.
  8. Thanks for that Jeffrey I really struggle to understand the deeds. Is there anywhere I could take them for more clarification?
  9. Jeffrey, on my deeds there is a 'T' on the side of my neighbours retaining wall. Does this mean 100% that it's their responsibility should it need repairing? The land is 5ft higher on their side. Thanks
  10. Hello I am in need of a burger van or two for an event next week Not sure on the legal issues but it would be parked on a public road outside a pub. If anyone can help with advice etc it would be appreciated Thanks Shane.
  11. Terry is a really nice bloke. Did ours in 1 day. 07570 789546 Just had the first winter and its changed our house. Really enjoyed it but don't expect to save money on your bills. Wood isn't cheap and we got through loads of it. It's a luxury without a doubt.
  12. Looking for a builder to repair/replace a back garden wall. It's holding up the neighbours garden so not that straightforward. Meersbrook, Sheffield S8 Cheers Shane
  13. Firstly, thanks for all the replies I have made contact with the roofers and awaiting a reply I mentioned we had a converted attic. Not sure if it was converted or always like this. Was done before we moved in. We had a new roof put on. We also had a new roof put on the off shot kitchen which is a very cold space and still covered in snow. There seems to be a handful of other houses with little snow on the roofs. All these seem to have had roofs done in recent years. The attic hasn't been cold at all this winter or last. We moved in here during the summer of 2012 so we never had a winter before the new roof. I do remember the first summer being really hot in the attic but the following summer after the new roof it was ok to be honest. This makes me think we do have suitable insulation as it was doing the reverse and preventing the sun warming up the attic through the roof tiles. Maybe the snow does slide off these new tiles. As the house isn't particularly cold I dm not too alarmed just maybe a bit annoyed if it wasn't done after we paid for it. I will check with the builder and take it from there. Maybe get someone up to check.
  14. We heard it slide off in the night. Massive crashing noise. The house was proper warm with the log burner going well.
  15. Had a new roof put on our terraced house last year. We have a converted attic and had the log burner downstairs going all day and night. The house was really warm no doubt about that. Although ours was the only house on the road with no snow on the roof. I was told we had the 150mm insulation put under the tiles. To be honest I was not expecting the snow to run off the roof before everyone else's. My question is to any experts out there? Does this mean the insulation wasn't put in? I was what work so not sure what they did Cheers Shane
