  1. I spent all my Christmas money and vouchers on a big pike of books... haven't picked a single one up yet ๐Ÿ™„ I've really lost my reading mojo this month.
  2. One factor that no politician will touch with a bargepole is that a lot of the daytime services lose money because they are used primarily by pensioners who don't pay. The subsidy they receive is very little, I think. At the meeting last year about the loss of the 52a bus, a large amount of the pensioners present said they'd be happy to pay a reduced fare, rather than completely free. Quite a few said they do pay full fare, just so the bus makes some money. It was a big factor in the useful and well-used S6 service being scrapped a few years ago.
  3. Yeah Irene, there's barely any buses going through Broomhill ๐Ÿ™„, it must be terrible for you. Wisewood and Loxley have NO buses in the evening and Sundays. None. We'd bloody love a bus, late or otherwise.
  4. The loss of the 52a and subsequent poor service of the 31 has been terrible for the community. So pleased it's coming back. Hopefully, it will be more reliable so that people can use it fully.
  5. Just finished the last in this trilogy, Kill The King... So good! I was dragging out the last 20 pages as I didn't want it to end ๐Ÿ˜„
  6. Ooh, I enjoyed this so much! I've ordered the next one from the library
  7. Blimey, that looks very dated Wearysmith! ๐Ÿคจ I've just started Kill the Father by Sandrone Dazieri. I'm hoping it's going to be good as it's one of a trilogy.
  8. Don't give us half a story! What happened last weekend?
  9. I'm 3 episodes in, but again had to stop listening while I'm working as it bears paying proper attention as there's so much detail!
  10. Finished "Square of Sevens" by Laura Shepherd-Robinson. Really enjoyed it, set in Georgian Bath and London, with enough twists to it to keep me reading way past my bedtime ๐Ÿ˜„
  11. They should do it at the last weekend of the summer school holidays, so less disruption. They also might get a better choice of acts, as they won't be competing with the bigger festivals.
  12. Really enjoyed The Spirit Engineer by AJ West. Its set in Belfast just after the titanic sank, and the upper classes are obsessed with all things spiritual.
  13. Recently finished The Betrayals by Bridget Collins. Really good, if a little slow to start.
  14. I started this after noticing your recommendation, really enjoyed it! I did find I had to stop listening while I was working though as I got too distracted ๐Ÿ˜„
  15. All the SIV pools have swimming lessons. You have to put your name down, but the waiting lists move quickly as kids pass each stage. We waited a few weeks to get on stage 1 at hillsborough i think.
