Sheffield Station - Checking Tickets
DOA1982 replied to Agent Orange's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Just because something is partially paid by public money does not necessarily mean that they don't have a right to block whatever access they choose. Lots of projects, buildings and public spaces are partially or fully paid by public money but it doesn't mean we call all go wondering through them! Sheffield Station is owned by EMT and so they can do what they want with it. Personally I think the ticket barriers are a good idea. Quickest and easiest way to stop fare dodgers. I travel to Leeds and Leicester regularly and they have had them for a while with no problems. -
Does anyone know of anywhere in Sheffield City Centre that would print a couple of items from a memory stick and how much? I need a couple of docs for this afternoon and my printer has broken Thanks

Medical Negligence solicitor - anyone know a good one?

Try Howells in the city centre. -
Yeah Right. Older drivers never have accidents do they!!!
-
I will always call it Cole Brothers. Everyone knows it belongs to the John Lewis Partnership and their brand colours and logos are all around the store so why can't they just leave the name alone!
-
That sounds about right. Every new scheme gets tested on the S10 corridor routes first. They generally get all the new buses, new timetables and new equipment first!!

I would love for this to come to sheffield. Its just such a quick and easy system. It cuts the queue times down as its normally just a case of waving your card against the machine. come on SYPTE! Get some investment made!

here we go again.... I doubt very much the clubs will merge. There is too much rivalry between the fans.

Gov says once a fortnight bin collection ?
DOA1982 replied to Kashul's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Can I just ask where you are supposed to keep all these bins if you live in a flat or terraced house with little or no space except the front drive or pavement? Do the council want us to start cluttering up the streets with several wheelie bins everywhere! - if you dont beleive this happens take a look at some of the terraced streets in central london where each house has 3 bins!! -
New Retail Quarter in the City Centre
DOA1982 replied to athorby's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Why do people have to put sheffield down all the bloody time. The NRQ is not even built yet. in fact, work has not even started and you already are making predictions that its doomed to fail. Any improvements to the city are positive steps to regenerating it. pls have a bit of optimism. -
Why does Sheffield stay closed on Sundays?
DOA1982 replied to longiesta's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Sheffielders do shop on sunday!! - meadowhall is packed out every single sunday. some people are even there bang on 11.00 waiting to get in!! The main reason people avoid sheffield city centre vs leeds/manchester on a sunday is the lack of free parking or reliable public transport on sundays I would love to be able to go down and shop there on a sunday - especially if everything opened up as normal without the stupid sunday trading laws -
Crap. They treat their account holders bad and their cash paying customers even worse. Unfortunately they seem to have a bit on a monopoloy over most of the big accounts eg: hospitals, hotels etc. They seem to be turning into the taxi equivillant of first mainline. Shame because they used to be really reliable!

Going out to see blood brothers at Lyceum shortly. Can anyone reccommend somewhere for a nice pre-theatre dinner other than Mommas and Leonies? Ta

Yeah. I think I might have to agree

Friday 15th Dec - Are there traffic problems again?
DOA1982 replied to SheShe's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Dont be silly. its like this all the time in Sheffield at least other cities have alternative routes out of the city when the main roads are blocked. Here you only have on way out and one way in. its pathetic. 3 nights in a row it has took me more than 1 hour to do a 5 mile journey!! im starting to regret working in the city centre!
