One factor that no politician will touch with a bargepole is that a lot of the daytime services lose money because they are used primarily by pensioners who don't pay. The subsidy they receive is very little, I think. At the meeting last year about the loss of the 52a bus, a large amount of the pensioners present said they'd be happy to pay a reduced fare, rather than completely free. Quite a few said they do pay full fare, just so the bus makes some money. It was a big factor in the useful and well-used S6 service being scrapped a few years ago.

Yeah Irene, there's barely any buses going through Broomhill 🙄, it must be terrible for you. Wisewood and Loxley have NO buses in the evening and Sundays. None. We'd bloody love a bus, late or otherwise.

The loss of the 52a and subsequent poor service of the 31 has been terrible for the community. So pleased it's coming back. Hopefully, it will be more reliable so that people can use it fully.

Walkley Post Office earmarked for closure!

Don't give us half a story! What happened last weekend? -
They should do it at the last weekend of the summer school holidays, so less disruption. They also might get a better choice of acts, as they won't be competing with the bigger festivals.

All the SIV pools have swimming lessons. You have to put your name down, but the waiting lists move quickly as kids pass each stage. We waited a few weeks to get on stage 1 at hillsborough i think.

Most high street opticians will collect them for re-use in developing countries.

It'd be a great place for a pocket park, like the ones in town that are designed to flood.

I can't imagine many people do their banking on their way to the football! Cash machine, yes, but there are plenty of those in S6. -
There's still plenty of parking spaces available in the car park. There's about a third or more not taken up by the travellers.

If you do report it, the council usually clear pavements fairly quickly. There's also Fixmystreet, which is great for getting potholes/fly tipping/ overgrown hedges sorted. -

Is There No Workers Unemployed In Southyorkshire

I think this is right. Wages seem to be the same or often lower than comparative jobs advertised 2 years ago when I was last looking. -
We used A1 last summer, they were good. Soil was decent quality and not stony.

Martin Johnson optician's in Hillsborough take them, as do most Specsavees I believe. My dad took some old pairs into Specsavers last month.
