  1. Thanks for that... I'm going to have to have a look now !!!!!!
  2. Bus Man, MaggyIrene... I'd (obviously mistakenly) assumed that the pic on the council site was looking out of the city and the station was the site that was Lavers since that was on land level(ish) with the rail line. If you type "heeley railway station, sheffield" into Google Maps someone has put a marker close to the bridge which must be up in the air at bridge level. Is this right? Was the station shown in the council map up in the air as well? Where is the entrance that is blocked up? I'm intrigued!!!!!
  3. If I remember correctly a 9.5kW electric shower will cost 1.75p per minute to run - about 9p per 5 minute daily shower. Heating by gas combi will cost 0.6p per minute - about 3p per 5 minute shower. So for a family of 4 showering daily: electric £130 per year; gas £44 per year.
  4. Could I recommend that before you worry too much about why it will not GO very well, you start to worry about STOPPING it from going !! At the last service your brake pads will have been checked to make sure that there was enough brake pad left to run for a reasonable mileage from then (about 6 months or 6,000 miles minimum) - the pads are NOT renewed at each service. An MOT just checks the brakes work now - they do not check to see if there is enough pad left for them to work tomorrow... that is what a service is for. It is quite possible your brake pads are almost at the end of their lives and the car will become a death trap very soon. And then good luck making it go properly !!
