  1. We invite you to celebrate six years of musically un-compromising Tinnitus and, more importantly, the incredible life of the world's clumsiest counter tenor and co-founder of Tinnitus. Sam Hiller, who sadly and unexpectedly passed away on the 15th March, was much loved amongst his friends, and his untimely departure from this world has left a huge hole in our lives. However, knowing Sam as I did, he wouldn't want us to wallow in sorrow; he'd want us to do what we do best, and that's have massive fu king rave: game on sir! So, ladies and Gentleman, a massive rave is what we give you (here comes the blurb): THE DJ PRODUCER (Rebelscum / Deathchant / The Third Movement / Killing Sheep ) A living legend within the hardcore techno scene, Luke's been responsible for a plethora of genre-defining and genre-destroying releases over the last decade and yet shows no sign of abating. Expect high energy and nothing less than utter dance floor annihilation. The globe-trotting hardcore techno don returns to the steel city to drop his payload of fresh as **** explosive core, and I for one can't flipping wait! Don’t know about you, but my face is melting in anticipation. JEFF AMADEUS (3 Decks Set) (Squat Recordings / ISR ) A firm advocate of our favourite 12" plastic circles, Jeff will be showing Sheffield how it's done as he works his way across 3 turntables; mixing up elements of house, techno, hardcore and beyond. A renowned DJ and talented producer, Jeff is a regular on the London squat party techno scene but also tours the world, making regular appearances all over Europe, Brazil and all the way to Japan. JAY AUTOPSY (Audio Damage / Pacemaker / Deathchant / Absurd Audio) Back by request, the elusive boss of Audio Damage returns with his special blend of dancefloor hardcore, and dark drum&bass. Jay's numerous and mindmeltingly releases on his own label Audio Damage, the Speedfreak's Absurd Audio, Brian Fury's Pacemaker and Hellfish's Deathchant say it all really, so I'll just leave it there. LOOP STEPWALKER (Ad Noiseum / Wicky Lindows) That young restless mind will be flying in from Spain to make his Tinnitus debut and one of his first UK performances. Expect big things to come from Loop, who's currently supported by and collaborating with the likes of Cooh/Balkansky, Broken Note, Sinister Souls and Niveau Zero. Young Stepwalker has been sharing the decks with some of the biggest names in the DNB & Dubstep scenes, so it's with great excitement and anticipation that we welcome him to sunny Sheffield. HEADCLEANER LIVE The modular analogue master is back with his box of tricks and will be taking us on a journey, but where to…? No one, least of all Dave, knows - because this is as LIVE as it gets. Watch and listen to this performance and it won't be hard for you to understand why Tinnitus loves Headcleaner! DISTORTED PANDA (Kaotek / Audio Damage / Tinnitus ) Tinnitus' head honcho will be pressing buttons, peddling core and jumping up and down like a complete tool, and probably pulling some strange faces as well. Sold? If not, why not?! Sounds good to me! Rich's recent co-lab "Elephant Track" with Johnny Sideways on Sheffield's Kaotek made Christmas number one in the French techno charts, and his latest track The Calling is due out on Audio Damage soon (check the plug!). So, da panda man makes his 30-something-th appearance at Tinnitus - why? Because he keeps booking himself, what a total narcissistic arse (especially as he's currently writing about himself in the third person). DJ DISOWNED (Braindamage Radio) Si, long standing Tinnitus resident and hardcore DJ extroadinare returns to remind us why hardcore is great! And I'm not talking raver-child ****, I'm talking about propa ARDCORE - you know the score, bring it on! SINISTA TEK The man, the myth, the bearded no-chinned legend works his way through genres like I do swarfega…errrr, that's weird. Anyway, Sam da man and will be bringing some ill skills blates. BITREX After his debut performance at the last birthday party, it just wouldn't be cricket not to invite the rather spiffing Bitrex back. Ride the groove, make the right move - I'm off on one, but you should check his mix out. RICH DANER:NOISE Sound bwoyy, oi oi! The evil genius takes a break from building doomsday-enducing sound reinforcement to spin some of those plastic circles i was talking about earlier. BEEFCLAW He makes noise; CHRISTOPHER RAVE A man. A MC909 Groovebox. A high likelihood of swearing (and acid) All proceeds from the night will go to the Sam Hiller Foundation. 18th MAY 2012 DLS, 5-7 Smithfield, Shalesmoor, Sheffield, S37AR, UK 12am while 6am £8 adv / £10 O.T.D. http://www.myearsarebleeding.co.uk
  2. Tinnitus is back, back, back, like an over-anaesthetised spinal cord that's suddenly recovered from total paralysis - hyper-sensitised and raring to go. If you've been to a Tinnitus event before you probably know that we have a healthy obsession with bringing you LIVE electronic music, which tends towards the full-on end of any given spectrum. So it's with this in mind that we are extremely proud to present to you... TINNITUS LIVE We'll be taking over the mahoosive warehouse room in the DLS complex from 9-12 for a rather special LIVE gig from Drumcorps, aka Aaron Spectre, with support from Headcleaner. DRUMCORPS Drumcorps is Aaron Spectre with a guitar and some electronics. In one sense it's heavymetal/grindcore/break core/dancefloor *annihilation* (moshpits encouraged for once), but on other levels it's much much more than that. Like 'relentless, like futuristic grindcore, like a raw **** between a metalhead and Terminator once its human disguise has melted - the esoteric practices of an industrialized techno metal head.' So yeah, this is high energy cathartic ****. You will dislike yourself if you miss this live show. HEADCLEANER If you came to the Tinnitus 5th birthday, you'll have a deep and meaningful understanding as to why we've invited the finest cleaner there is back to get things going in in the LIVE room. Headcleaner was the biggest and best surprise of the birthday party with his homemade synthesiser which looks a bit like a telephone exchange. He'll be riding the waves in directions which that no one can predict. Especially him. Early arrival essential, or again you'll be kicking yourself. SINISTA TEK Our very own bearded metal ******* will be warming things up in the LIVE room. There is simply noone else in the world who could do a better job. Blates. Once the mayhem is over in the LIVE room, it'll turn into a kind of ****ed-up chill/illbient/wonked up space, and the rave will continue in 2 of DLS' smaller, more rave-orientated spaces. ROOM 2 - TINNITUS Vs SUSTAINED RECORDS Sustained Records head honcho MacheeeN Boi will be bringing along his label 'chums' Scheme Boy and Jakub23 - think core&bass, think about giving a **** about the environment, think that you're in for a ****ing treat! Better than your gran topless, like. Alongside them lot there'll be a Panda (Distorted) and a Sideways (Johnny)doing what they do in their own inimitable and banging fashion, unless one of their laptops decides it's not the right ambient temperature to run Ableton. Or something. VINYL FOREVER!!!! Also, 'cos we love him soooo much, DJ Disowned will be making his regular trek up from London to play a special jungle and oldskool 'ardcore set. ROOM 3 - SUBVERT VS ROOM 303 Two of our favourite Sheffield promoters will be battling in out and creating plenty of bass in the process. Squire of Gothos SINK DANKLE WANTON BEAST MUMBLIST GIBBERIST DLS complex, Snow Lane Sound by Danger Noise Audio Limited early bird tickets available for only £5 & Cheap advance tickets £7 from wegottickets.com myearsarebleeding.co.uk / Facebook
  3. Friday the 29th of April 2011 will be a day to remember. A day to rejoice, a day for a royal celebration of such magnitude that your children's children will recall the day that their mother's mother, their father's father, their father's father's tennis partner and his butler's sister partied so hard that they had to sit down. The day will be immortalised for all time in the hearts and minds of the of the good men and women of the United Kingdom who came together and laughed in the face of austerity, who joined hands as brothers and sisters to celebrate something they truly believed in. As people dance and celebrate and forget their woes and put faith in something so wonderful, something so pure, something so beautiful, onlookers will know this could mean only one thing…. ITSTHE TINNITUS 5th BIRTHDAY PARTY!!! …and what a splendid party it will be! You'll know that we've always pulled out all the stops for our legendary birthday parties and this party will be no exception. As a young male employee once said to me when I ordered 20 chicken nuggets, "You don't f**k about, do you mate?" And no, my friend, no we don't. Tinnitus 5th Birthday - Friday 29 April 2011 12 - 6am @ a secret central Sheffield location Room One - Core & Bass The Dj Producer (90 minutes) (Rebel Scum/Deathchant/Killing Sheep/TTM) He utterly annihilated the floor at the 2nd birthday party, so we though it stupid not to get him back. He's the the best Hardcore Techno DJ in the Universe (probably), he's not played in Sheffield for 3 years and you get to hear him for an HOUR AND A HALF. Johnny Sideways LIVE (Kaotek Wreckords / Jigsore) Properly live, TribalHardTekKorePsy, bangingness. Northern style. The Squire of Gothos (Offmenut Records/Rag and Bone) Globe-trotting bassline-raping local legends get on the case. DJ Disowned (Braindamageradio.com/Graffitti Breakz) Our favourite non-resident guest DJ fellow will bring the hardcore in only the way he can, with just the right amount of cheese. Distorted Panda (Tinnitus) Watch as the Tinnitus main man and resident twiddles a quite preposterous number of knobs whilst playing disgraceful tunes off his laptop. DJ Happyslap (Tinnitus/Disjunkt) Proud southern ponce Happyslap will probably be playing a load of nasty speedcore. Or maybe some ultracore. Or what about a set entirely made up of Passenger of **** Tunes? Definitely no speed garage though, Sinista Tek (Tinnitus/Re:Wired) Just like the stinky cheeses, fine wines and anything with an Amen Mr Tek adores, he just gets better with age (or something, work with me here people). Anyway, he's ****ing ace. Room Two - Unpredictable Live Electronics Headcleaner LIVE (Rephlex) Home-made analogue acidic phatness. Ascetic LIVE (Bad Sekta) Man of mystery . . . busmonitor LIVE terra audio LIVE Nature meets computer tek in soul adventures using a variety of ongoing unpredictable methods. Some like it otter... Bitrex LIVE Jones (Now Then/Mr Misanthropy UK 2010) The finest creative mind in Sheffield will play some ‘sub driven techno with weird samples’ (he’s got loads apparently). Ben Junction Box - exclusive funk, disco and *proper* electro set Sound by Danger Noise Audio / Lasers by Mr DMX Advance Tickets £6 available from residentadvisor.net & wegottickets.com / M.O.T.D myearsarebleeding.co.uk / Facebook
  4. Jay Autopsy and DJ Tugie (Audio Damage, Deathchant, Absurd Audio) Johnny Sideways LIVE (Kaotek) Bee-log (Marionette Records) Distorted Panda (Tinnitus). @ The Redhouse, 168 Solly Street, Sheffield Doors open at 10 pm and the last entry is at 1.30am. £3 before 11 / NUS, £4 afters. Sound on the Danger Rig, lights by mr DMX/the laser guy.
  5. Yay! Christmas! Woo! Everyone loves it - tacky decorations, horrendous festive songs, annoying relatives, endless mince pies, ****ed retards in vomit-stained santa hats and loads of marriage breakdowns all bound together with lovely religious glue - so much to make you feel great about humanity, don't you think? Well if you want to escape all that b*ll*cks (apart from the santa hat types perhaps) there's a little pubrave going off in a certain legendary venue on the back streets of Sheffield - nothing less than the Tinnitus/Room 303/Subvert Christmas Party in fact. After all, the greatest gift you can give at Yuletide is bass, and we've got a selection of underground dons and lairy residents to provide plenty of that . . . The Tinnitus/Room 303/Subvert Christmas Party @ The Red House, Solly St, Sheffield, Friday 4th December 2009 SCHEME BOY (Ninja Columbo/Peace Off/Adverse Camber) It's taken a while to get Schemeboy to the Red House, but it's happened at long last. As co-founder of the Adverse Camber crew, one half of the somewhat mental Boep, prolific producer on some of the sickest labels around, keyboard player with a leading psychedelic prog rock band and founder of the Anti-Ketamine League, he's done it all really. Apart from utterly, utterly mangle the dancefloor at the Redhouse that is, and about time too! SASQUATCH (Senseless Records) This guy lives, breathes and pretty much personifies bass. Rooted about as firmly as possible in the underground, he's raved, DJed, produced and squatted his way around the UK and Europe all while co-running the seminal Senseless Records imprint. We are very, VERY lucky to have him play in Sheffield - expect fresh, razor sharp bass music. Proper zeitgeist. And, of course, there will be heaps of ace music (and something that passes for showmanship) from the usual motley bunch of residents. You know they're good, I know they're good - even your mum knows they're good. The craic is as follows: Venue - The Red Hose, Solly St, Sheffield Doors - 9 while 3 Tax - FREE! FREE! FREE! before 10:30/£4 after Sound - Danger rig Lights - Billy DMX Booze - plenty See you on the floor . . . T/R/S xxx www.myearsarebleeding.co.uk
  6. Sheffield's summer of rave unity continues with a 3-way link up which should produce a stonking, gratis pubrave. Tinnitus, Asylum and Feedback are combining their musical clout and have come up with with the following badboy lineup: Distorted Panda (Tinnitus) Johnny Sideways (Kaotek) Aggers (Feedback) Lost Paul and Little Gee (Feedback) N:Vision (Asylum/Endless) Ikarai (Tinnitus) and *very* *very* special guest MC Tonn Piper Not bad for a free party eh? Doors 9 while 3. Last entry 1 am. The Red House, Solly St, Sheffield myearsarebleeding.co.uk / Facebook
  7. Summer is usually a time when the clubs go quiet, people bugger off on holiday or to a festival, and things, whist pleasant, are rather tame. Well, sod that frankly. We reckon Sheffield needs a decent bit of heads-down, sweat-off-the-ceiling, pounding pounding POUNDING pubrave action. So, almost inevitably, the almighty Tinnitus and the just as great Asylum are having a party, together like. You should come! Tinnitus & Asylum present: The Teknoist & Chums Friday 10 July 2009 The Red House, Solly St, Sheffield The Teknoist – LIVE – Sheffield Exclusive (Ninja Columbo/ Deathchant / Ad Noiseam / Planet Mu / Peace Off / Death$ucker /Sustained Records/ Rebelscum) If he didn’t make such good music then there a lot of things we could say about The Teknoist (heritage, location etc – all complimentary, obviously), but since he’s such a nails producer, we won’t. He’s yet another one of those UK music makers who defies genre, and defies in style; he touches upon HCT, badass DnB and simply rough-as-**** electronica in his seminal (and manic) live sets, and he runs Ninja Columbo, which is an incredible record label. Expect to be gob-struck – nothing less. Support comes from a bunch of, to be frank, reprobates. How any of them got the money to buy decks in the first place without selling their backsides (not that that would get them anywhere fast) is frankly beyond knowing. Good thing they’re such badass DJs then eh? MacheeN Boi(Substance/Sustained Records) N:Vision (Asylum/Endless) Distorted Panda (Tinnitus) Sinista Tek (Tinnitus/Dissonance) Doors 10 while 3. Tax £4 NUS or before 11/£5 otherwise. Sound on by the Feedback rig. myearsarebleeding.co.uk / myspace.com/asylumsheffield / Facebook
  8. Do you like Tinnitus (the Sheffield-based night, that is)? I hope so. What about Room 303? Same answer, I would have thought. Well, if you said yes to one or more of those questions then you’ll be pleased, nay overjoyed, to read the following announcement. And if you attended the first Tinnitus/303 event back at the Red House in January then your emotions should be, well, skyrocketing. If you answered in the negative to both questions, then shame on you! Anyway . . . Tinnitus vs. Room 303 oh so proudly present: The Sheffield Pubrave Battle Part II Saturday 27 June 2009 @ The Harley, Glossop Road, Sheffield Featuring: King Cannibal (Ninja Tune / Rag & Bone / Senseless Records) A recent newcomer to the almighty Ninja Tune label, KC first made his name releasing some truly bad-ass mixtapes under the pseudonym Zilla back at the start of the century. Since moving over to production his tunes have received praise from numerous luminaries of the scene, including Bong Ra, Kid 606, Mary Ann Hobbs, Amon Tobin and loads more. Coming through with a hard-edged, utterly uncompromising industrial mash-up of sounds and rhythms from dancehall and drum & bass and some pretty sly DJing skills this man will take on the Harley in ways and means that have never been seen before. Support will come from the following dedicated residents who will play some dubstep, techno, old school hardcore, f**k-off d’n’b and HCT along with a hefty slab of solid-gold speed garage classics: Doom Patrol (Room 303) DJ Happyslap (Tinnitus) Mumblist (Room 303) Distorted Panda (Tinnitus) Rave on, comrades . . . 10 while 3, £3 in. Sound on the danger rig, lighting by Billy DMX/the laser guy. myearsarebleeding.co.uk / 303power.com / Facebook / Myspace
  9. Tinnitus. Is. Three. I know it sounds well, miraculous, but it’s true, believe me. That’s three long years packed with 18 parties, over 100 hours of music in five different locations, a lorra lorra superb guests and a crew of resident DJs that is beyond compare. At present we’re lucky to have a residence at the best venue in Sheffield (Red House) with the loveliest management (J&T) the most tolerant bar staff, the wickedest soundsystem (danger noise), a superlative lightshow (thanks to BillyDMX) and the most talented and distinctive designer in the whole of Sheffield, with a refreshing, innovative approach to deadlines (the incomparable Matt Jones). Last but not least (yeah I know it’s a worn out cliché but **** it, it’s our birrrrfday) Tinnitus is incredibly fortunate to have the most amazing crowd of punters a humble night like ours could ever wish for. Without you there’s be no Tinnitus. You’re all great you are. I love you, I really do. Nah I mean it, you’re all my best mates . . . *falls over* Where was I? Oh yeah, we’re having a birthday party. Woohoo! Tinnitus 19 – Three Whole Years Friday 22nd May 2009 Red House, Solly St, Sheffield Matt Green – LIVE – 2 SETS (Corrupt/Base Corrupt/Corrupt Redux/TTM) Hailing from deepest, darkest South London, Matt Green has been a scion of the international hardcore techno scene for over a decade He started his prolific label, Corrupt Records back in 1998 and released many tunes and remixes on a number of seminal imprints over the following years. Recently he’s developed his own deeply individual take on the dubstep sound with his second label, Base Corrupt. Given all that we’re very, very lucky to have him play 2 live sets for us, showcasing material from both his production styles. This man’s about as hardcore as they come so expect it intelligent, dark, deep and deliciously industrial. Bruce Stallion LIVE (Tigerbass) The new nom de plume of Brighton’s DJ Floorclearer, Bruce Stallion is becoming renowned for his finely tuned, progressive (in a good way) and extremely dancefloor-friendly material. Superbly edited drums, trouser wobbling bass and old school vibes will abound, all held together with super high-grade rave glue. Ebola LIVE (Wrong Music/Spectraliquid) Ebola is from Totnes (that’s a hick town in Devon). He’s been making tunes since 2000. He’s one of the founding members of Brighton’s infamous Wrong Music crew. In his own words his live sets are made up of ‘a mixed bag of grime, noise, booty-techno and breakcore punctuated by various technical hitches and drunken shouting.’ He’s really, bloody good. DJ support will come from the one and only Distorted Panda and the no less distinguished Tek Rich. Doors 9 while 3 Tax: £3.50 adv/£4 before 11/£5 otherwise. Decibels courtesy of the Danger rig. myearsarebleeding.co.uk / myspace / facebook
  10. was into my techno (Beyer, Sims, DK...) and used to run a night in liverpool called ultra-violent, however when my girlfriend moved to Frankfurt i discovered Schranz! Schranz is probably the most banging form of techno! and is well worth checking out sets by Frank Kvitta, Rober Natus, Sven Wittekind and Marco Remus I used to fly to frankfurt almost every weekend to go to U60 which is probably one of the best clubs in the world..... However, despite this Schranz isnt hard enough for me anymore which is why I play speedcore / gabba and breakcore. If you fancy hearing some Schranz & breakcore in Sheffield, check out Tinnitus @ the DNR live, 26th April
  11. I am please to present to you a fat fix of stonking music to make your mother cry!.......... We really, really, really, really like breakcore, gabber, speedcore and techno. In fact, we like all viciously banging electronic music, and we realised a while ago that not enough of it gets played in Sheffield. Lo and behold, TINNITUS! We can't promise you any Djs you'll have heard of, you won't be seeing any toilet attendants, there's no VIP area and you'll get a funny look if you ask for a cocktail at the bar. However, we can guarantee you a good few hours of high-grade abrasiveness played on a oversized soundsystem, sensibly priced beer, somewhere to sit down and toilets that flush, slap bang in the middle of Sheffield - all for a measly 2 or 3 quid. What more could you ask for, you ****ing lunatics? Get down there or we'll have you sectioned. Love, The TINNITUS Crew x CONTACT: info@myearsarebleeding.co.uk DnR Live is the venue formerly known as 'Under the Boardwalk' and 'The Point'. It's located underneath 'The Boardwalk' on Snig Hill. To get there you need to walk down the tram tracks in the city centre, turn left by Primark and walk down the hill. The venue's on the left.
