  1. Having lost his Internet connection yesterday, my partner rang Virgin Media this evening to try and find out the problem. He has been told that there is a fault in the area and it won't be sorted until the 14th of October, we were wondering if anyone else has had issues and if so have they been given the same date. Lorraine
  2. Having recently moved from Sheffield to Doncaster, I tried to follow the correct procedures regarding changing my childrens schools. my daughter was at Westfield School while my son was at Handsworth. Both children were assigned places at schools in Doncaster before we moved, although they were assigned places in different schools here too. My son started his new school without any issues although my daughter is still at home waiting for a start date for her new school, due to Westfield still not forwarding her forms. This means my daughter has already missed out on a month of her education and still no sign that anything is happening. I am at a loss on where to go from here to get her back into school as soon as possible. Lorraine
  3. The children from Westfield school have been given a letter today saying that they are allowed to stand on the playing field at approximately 12.30 to show their respects as the cortege passes. Lorraine
  4. Thanks Phil, looks like we're looking elsewhere then. Lorraine
  5. My partner and I were planning on booking a meal this weekend but the only number I can find for Que-tal doesn't seem to be working. Is it still open and if so does anyone have the number please. Lorraine
  6. My son got the bus to the other side of Sheffield yesterday, just to get there and be told that his school was shutting. He rang me and I warned him to try and get the bus quickly as I had heard that they were going to be stopping them, he admitted he would rather make the 2 hour walk home than get on another bus as he had been really worried by the way the bus had been sliding around. To be fair the bus companies finished whatever run they were on, they didn't leave anyone stranded and I am not aware of anyone unfit to walk being left stranded, would it have been better running the buses until they couldn't move due to snow and abandoned cars and had to unload passengers halfway to their destination?
  7. Definitely running as OH is currently on train from Sheffield to Leeds
  8. Not sure if i was power cut but something tripped my fuse for sockets at about 2 a.m. so may have been power surge or something (I am in S20 too)
  9. Just had text from Westfield, sending kids home at 1.30
  10. Actually got the text in time today not at 2 - 3pm as it has been lately.
  11. Definately opened at 10. kids had to walk right round from tram stop gates to get in tho.
