  1. I will be getting a proper fitter to do this job but I wanted a little advice first so I don't get conned.! We currently have a Freestanding Cooker connected to a 32 Amp Spur. The main oven on this has failed so we are going to replace this with a Eye level oven. As we are going to temporarily continue using the hob on the Freestanding unit what I need to know is:- Can I connect both the Freestanding cooker and the New Eye level oven to the same Spur.??? I need to know before I purchase the oven & unit to fit it in as if it needs a second spur I may need to rethink things.
  2. As per the thread. I have a small 30l lightly planted tank, in it i have:- 2 Amano Shrimp Few Assassin snails (2 adults and plenty of young). 6 Glowlight Tetra I am going to change this into a Fully Planted tank with a Slate Feature containing just Shrimp. The Assassin Snails will be both passed onto other tank users and also placed in my 300l Community Tank along with the Tetra. So i am Looking for some more shrimp (cherry's etc) Any Shrimp i get will be going into my Nursery Tank first and then on to the newly landscaped 30l tank. Also i am looking for plants for Ground cover and christmas moss (Or Similar) I am not wanting to Spend a lot of money on this as in the future i may end up changing to a 50l tank, so any suggestions and help is most appreciated.
  3. We have a problem, one of our neighbour’s own a cat, and for the past few years that we have lived here their cat seemed quite happy and content whenever we have seen it snoozing in the garden etc. In the past month the "owners" of this cat have suddenly abandoned this cat, e.g. denying food and shelter. This cat sits in the garden and pitifully cries with clear distress. This goes on morning noon and throughout the night. While we are aware of this during the night (and have had many sleepless nights which isn’t a problem as we own many animals) we are EXREMELY concerned for this cats welfare. Unfortunately the cat is quite timid and our garden is enclosed and we cannot access the cat directly. We have been able to provide a little dried food to try to ease its discomfort. We are aware (as animal lovers) that this may not seem like a good idea to some people, but when you see and hear a cat virtually screaming while looking at the windows of its owners house you have to try something. Please note these people are not the type you would approach directly, but we have contacted the RSPCA 2 weeks ago and they have basically ignored our plea for help, advising us "NOT" to feed the cat. We were considering trying to contact other organisations, can someone please advise as this is beyond CRUEL now. Please note this cat has had no shelter for at least 2 months in all weather. We will be unable to read any posts after around 10am today but would be greatful of help.
  4. Sorry just have to say, Humans are not Carnivores... We are Omnivores. Cats on the otherhand are Carnivores, they are designed to survive on primarily Meat/Meat based foods. There was a study recently that showed cats fed mainly Dried foods hunted more than cats fed Meat.....
  5. I personally think we ought to do some scientific tests. I will try tonight by releasing a Mouse and a Sprout in the room and see which the cats chase first. I am hoping for the cats to start dragging in 5lb of spuds and a head of lettuce, instead of the frogs, toads etc.
  6. Hi, I am starting a new Aquarium, i am wanting to have a planted Aquarium but i was wondering which Substrate would be best for the planting.
  7. Maybe you need to read the whole thread first before you are rude and obnoxious. It is not just the daily limits, it is also the fact that they are capping the speeds, that is not what they advertise. As i have said even trading standards are looking into the legality of this change to their service.
  8. I have just recieved a call from trading standards. Anyone who has a Current Contract with virgin media and they still have time left in said contract. can cancel with no fines due to Unfair change and breech of contract due to misadvertisement of the description of the connection speed and the misuse of the word "UNLIMITED" They are also now passing this onto the office for fair trading as they now believe that this needs to be looked into at a higher level. Just by quoting the "Fair Usage" policy this is not subject to restricting speed and quantity of your conecction, they should send a warning letter out to all offenders and then follow up with a notice to cesation of services. Virgins system seems to be hit and miss a the moment, I am not a heavy user yet i have a limit on my account, a friend of mine downloads around 300Gb a month and has got full speed. Virgin will contacted by the OoFT and advised to what should happen.
  9. Final Word. Blah Blah Blah. My total downloads for this last month are around 6Gb. But then again just like all people who cant win by being civil, you call names. Read my post i was not starting an argument i was making statements big difference. If you are so sure that what you are doing is OK then why use a website that has a Your ISP can see everything that goes to your computer Especially Virgin as it goes directly through their server. Relakks only hides your True identity to the Source ISP. Anyhow. Everyone else... Trading standards have asked for me to fax a copy of all my documents Contract, and letter regarding the alteration of services and they are contacting Virgin to find out Why they believe that this constitutes as "Unlimited":D
  10. I am happy that you are happy (Although Most on here are not or can you not see that.) It seems that you are one of the culprits that is why Virgin have put the Restrictions in place. 12Gb since 6am, maybe Virgin want to look into what you are downloading. Your total Downloads are ristricted. You have a Daily Maximum in place as well as set time of day that you are able to download a maximum in these "Throttled" Periods. You obviously do not know what unlimited means as you have not got and neither has anyone else with virgin an unlimited account. Why have you joined in on all the threads about Virgin to try and tell people that they are all wrong.? Do you work for them? Virgin have said that they are going to be checking what people are downloading in the future, so anyone who is downloading Excessive amounts will be very heavily investigated. So i would be very careful if i was you. If you are just on here to try and start an argument, then i for one will from now on be ignoring all your posts and i advise anyone else to do the same, this thread was for people who have a problem to learn why and what others are doing to try and fix it, not for "i'm all right Jacks" to try and insite an argument.
  11. Well as far as i am concerned Unlimited should mean just that. According to the Dicionary Unlimited is as follows. :- adjective 1. not limited; unrestricted; unconfined: unlimited trade. 2. boundless; infinite; vast: the unlimited skies. 3. without any qualification or exception; unconditional. Not as previously has been shown the Constraints that have been imposed onto Virgins Customers. Trading standards have currently got a copy of the letter i recieved and are looking into a possible breech of the law.
  12. Even though i typed Gb instead of Mb i would think most knew what i meant. What 2 are the same® price.??? Who's website? Take what out.? Sorry to be picky but i just dont understand a thing you are on about. BTW to everyone. Even though Sky advertise a 16Mb connection you can only get the maximum speed that your BT line will allow. For example Mine will allow 6Mb with an average of 3.5Mb. The reason they advertise 16Mb is because they can not advertise different packages with limits all at the same speed. This said, when BT upgrade the telephone network you will get the advertised speeds. (Or you can pay BT to do this for you)
  13. You realise that on the 2Mb connection you will get around 512kbps to 1Mb. Plus a max of 1Gb download between 10am and 3pm and 500Mb between 4pm and 9pm with a Max daily download of 15Gb (13.5 during the night) Also you have just agreed to another 12month contract with them. ? If you are happy with that then good for you. If not you have a 7 day "cooling off period" with which to cancel. I have spoken to Virgin today and they have agreed that if i wish to leave i will not be stuck with an Early Close of contract fee. (Although this was after OfCom and CiSaS had got involved.) I am now waiting to speak to BT and Sky to see how soon i can be connected.
  14. NO, when i spoke to Virgin, i was told that atm not all customers have recieved the letter, but all customers will be subject to the automated system. If the system notice's you downloading more than your limit (as posted above) on a regular basis, you could be subject to a capping of your account. One thing to note though, your daily amounts are not "just" limited to downloads. Opening a webpage, uses some of the allocation as do listening to live radio, watching Podcasts, Watching Youtube, playing online, using X-Box Live, using a Wii online etc. I have spoken to one person on another website who has said that his disabled daughter spent most of the day online chatting to friends, using facebook, using Bebo and Youtube. She told him one day that the internet wasn't working, he contacted virgin who told him that everything was fine at their end, and that he should replace his router. He did this at a cost of over £80 at the time. Still no internet... He phoned virgin again and spoke a another person who actualy laughed at him down the phone. !!! He was told that he had been capped as he was using way too much bandwidth. The only way to be uncapped was to upgrade to the next band. All i can say is since the company went from being Telewest/NTL it seems that they have no real interest in the little people. Rumour has it that very soon they are going to be getting rid of the 2Mb & 4Mb connection and anyone who is on these will be automtically upgraded but most will have to pay the difference. And virgin have the cheek to boast that they are always voted the BEST ISP in britain. They obviously havn't read the reviews lately.
  15. Here is a link to the details of the Large phone package. http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=10256 It clearly states Free Evening and Weekend calls to UK Landlines. If you are not getting this i would be questioning Virgin.
