  1. Our electric shower has stopped producing hot water and we are undecided on how to fix it - whether to replace with another electric shower or whether to change the boiler to a combi and run the shower from that. The reason being that the hot water pressure is poor in the house anyway, and the electric shower was also feeble at best. Any advice?
  2. I would like to recommend 2 tradesmen who have just recently carried work out in my new kitchen: Corgigasman aka Steve Turner; Corgi Gasman (Tel: 07914356608 ) Did an amazing job disconnecting our old gas cooker, installing our new gas hob AND cutting back some old boiler piping. Steve is very friendly and really cares about the work he does, right down to the last detail. He even demonstrated that everything worked as it should by showing me before he left - thus ensuring peace of mind that all the work he had done, was actually done S-C-E aka Rob Daniels; Electrian (Tel: 07960152152) Did a great job installing our new electric oven, it required wiring in and a new switch with fuse combo adding into our circuit. All was completed quickly and perfectly. Rob is really friendly and had us laughing all whilst completing the task at hand. We asked lots of questions to satisfy our curiosity about the kitchen circuit and Rob took the time to explain to us the hows and the whys in a way we could understand. Both of these tradesmen I can not recommend highly enough. Both were able to work with in a short time frame that we required, both arrived at the time they said they would and for both guys, nothing was too much trouble for them.
  3. Ahh it's not just us then :-) We always look out for them as we drive past. They are so cute aren't they! We didn't see them for a few days and wondered if the foxes (or pest control) had got them, but have seen them again since :-)
  4. Hi thanks, unfortunately we couldn't make it this week. I would like to bring her to the beginners course but I'm assuming it's 8 consecutive weeks rather than 8 weeks as and when you can get there. I can't make every Thursday and would miss quite a few so its a bit difficult really. I don't think she'd be ready for the advanced class as she hasn't got much focus when there's other people and dogs around. I'm not sure she'll listen at all at first..
  5. Hi, thanks for your message. It's more the dog socialization and working with distractions around that I'm keen on. Our dog is quite easy to train at home but mainly needs more practice whilst being around other people and dogs which is why I'm interested in taking her to classes
  6. Thanks for the info it is a bit of a trek for us but if we don't find anything nearer it may well be worth a try. Is the 8 week beginners course just for young puppies or is it for any dog that's not been to training classes before? Ours is 11 months but not been to classes before that we know of (rescue dog). How many dogs would you say there are normally in the class?
  7. Hi, I'm looking for a good dog training class, preferably not too far from S8. I've heard about some ongoing dog training classes in Sheffield where you pay to join and then just pay for the weeks you go. This would be ideal as I work irregular shifts and am unlikely to be able to go every week. However I don't know where this dog training is? Does anyone know? Just wanting general training, socialization etc. Really would prefer something longer than 6/8 weeks or similar. Thanks
  8. Thanks, it sounds like the herbs are well worth trying which is good to know! I considered contacting CSJ for advice and to ask about samples but last time (when I had to change dog food) it took a few weeks for the samples to arrive and I didn't want to wait that long really. I will be contacting a stockist soon to buy some. The dem bones also sound great and we may try them at some point when we've figured out whether our dog is intolerant to chicken or not
  9. I'm just wondering if anyone on here has any experience of using any of the CSJ herbs alongside CSJ dog food? I'm thinking of trying the CSJ "Heal" to see if it would help stabilise my dog's stomach (and poops -sorry). She's not normally too bad but it's not quite 'healthy'. We've just found out one dog food treat we were giving her definitely doesn't suit her, but her stomach still hasn't quite settled since we cut it out. Thinking "heal" might be worth a try to see if it could calm and settle her stomach? Whilst looking on the CSJ website I saw the "Billy No Mates" herbs which is the natural flea prevention - but does it work? Has anyone used this? I've also seen the "Seaweed&Parsley for Oral Health" herbs, apparently this keeps dogs teeth cleaner and gets rid of doggy breath.. again, anyone tried this? I wouldn't plan to introduce all three at once but am interested in hearing anyone's experience with any of these herb supplements. Thanks
  10. It's good to have a cage that will still be big enough as your puppy grows. One thing you could do is use a cage divider if you want to reduce the space for now and you can adjust it as your puppy gets bigger. You can probably find them quite easily online or a lot of people just put a cardboard box or similar at one end of the cage to block it off leaving only enough space for the puppy to be comfortable and sleep, and no space to toilet
  11. http://www.besom.com "Many of us have good quality things that we do not use or need and local Besoms provide a service that enables you to pass them on to people who really need them. Those who are re-housed are often given flats with absolutely nothing in them. Those escaping domestic violence may have to leave all their possessions behind. Through a network of contacts in social services, charities, refuges and family centres, The Besom constantly hears about people living out on the edge. We are then able to match up the things given with the needs we hear about. If you have good quality items you wish to give away, your local Besom would love to receive them. We can pass them on immediately to vulnerable people who really need them. These include women escaping domestic violence, homeless people, refugees, families or individuals living in extreme poverty." They are great. Came and collected a bed frame from us the other day as arranged, with no probs.
  12. We need to hire dinnerware (cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses, cups and saucers etc) for the three course meal, which sounds like it could be expensive! Can anyone recommend places that hire for weddings? So far I'm only aware of "You Can Hire" at Eckington Thanks!
  13. I would like a barn dance for my wedding next March, and am wanting to find a local barn dance band who could do this. Any recommendations or offers!? Also an idea of cost would be great. Thanks!
  14. I am shocked with the responses of some of the posters on this thread. Why is it not considered normal to be at the very least polite with someone who comes to your door without any ill intent? We may not "have" to put their catalogues back out for them to be collected, but is it really such a hardship to do so? Why do you take delight in taking the liberty to cause someone else a loss, just because you feel you are allowed to? It seems you like to take out your stress and general unhappiness on someone who has merely put a catalogue temporarily into your hands. Gloating and supposedly enjoying telling an agent that you have destroyed or disposed of their catalogue, is simply ridiculous. It was merely another persons means of earning a living. What kind of acheivement is it to say 'it's my possesion now' - and throw it in the blue bin? It isn't that dreadful to receive a catalogue through your door, and seriously - it isn't that hard to be pleasant, and treat the agents as they are; human beings; just like you.
