  1. BBC Travel only gives this info: M1 South Yorkshire Both ways Incident type: disruption DISRUPTION between J34 for A631 South Yorkshire and J35 for A629 Rotherham Thorpe Hesley M1 South Yorkshire - M1 closed in both directions between J34, A631 (Meadowhall) and J35, A629 (Rotherham), because of a serious police incident. Highways agency traffic cameras show police blocking the motorway and people in the queue stood around outside their vehicles.
  2. Think I will have to try the home-made recipe too, cheers Bonjon!
  3. Dont worry its currently only around 2ft tall and well back from the road.
  4. Update.... The planned flypast over Derwent Dam will now take place 30 minutes earlier than originally planned. The two Lancasters will now pass overhead Derwent Dam at 1615 hours, weather and serviceability permitting. http://www.raf.mod.uk/bbmf/news/index.cfm?storyid=CA64D45E-5056-A318-A8E79ADC5F3310DE
  5. I'd be interested to know too, only saw the notice when we were leaving today.
  6. If you could get a length of hosepipe into the water butt by holding it from the top somehow, make sure you lower it in slowly so it fills with water then put your thumb over it, drop the end you have your thumb over into a butt with a bit of water in and it will syphon the water until they are level. I did this with 3 butts in a row, takes time for them to level out but it does work. I wouldnt recommend sucking the pipe if you dont know how long the water has been in there!
  7. We had our shed burnt out at Woodhouse last year by some kids (witnesses said there were around 13) after the council had installed security gates etc. No allotment will ever be 100% secure from wasters like them im afraid. We weighed up the cost of replacing the shed, equipment and rent vs the time and effort we put in and decided to move on to a new plot at Infield Lane. Twice the size plot, 3 times the size site and better security for a fraction of the council rent.
  8. The new lights are always working in a morning, I've only been up once during the afternoon restrictions and that was this Tues and they weren't on then so it does seem they are only currently used in a morning.
  9. There's both restriction & camera warning signs.
  10. The sign on Mansfield Road is before the junction with Woodhouse Road, before where the bus lane actually starts.
  11. There are signs on Mansfield Road & Woodhouse Road stating they are in use. Couldn't tell you about the roads that join Mansfield Road further up as I don't use them.
  12. My bold. The enforcement started on 14th April I think.
  13. I don't think the issue is that the traffic is worse, all that's happened is the problem has been pushed further back down Mansfield Road so the buses get delayed there rather than up where the layout has been changed. I tend to find on Wednesday's the traffic is backed down further than any other day though. I also agree the junction with Woodhouse Road needs changing to make provision for right turners as some people that come up Mansfield Road just sit and wait for them to turn. Just go around them in the bus lane, I have been doing that since the cameras went live and haven't received any fines.
  14. Not sure if these are cheaper than B&Q: http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/special/gg-gardening-express-uk-86/38768390?p=8&nlp=&CID=UK_CRM_1_0_0_131&utm_source=channel_goods-deals&utm_medium=email&sid=bc1dec22-9a33-43c1-8335-03000620cfbf&division=national-deal&uh=aa2db343-92ab-4db1-a395-7c11a2bbdf4e&date=20141105&sender=rm&s=body&c=deal_title&d=deal-page&utm_campaign=gg-gardening-express-uk-86-38768390
