  1. Does anyone know any good dentists/doctors surgeys in Sharrow/Netheredge? Thanks.
  2. I work at Zest, so I'm slightly biased. ;-) However, I have used the gym at Zest and it's got really friendly staff and even at busy times you can get on the equipement, which I have found to be a problem at other gyms in Sheffield. I used to go after work around 5pm, and always managed to get on to equipment I wanted to use. Also, the people that use the gym are not your conventional gym goers who are pumping out weights 24/7. I think you should try it and hopefully you'll be pleasently suprised. You can get a 1 month membership to start with if that suits you, if not I'm sure there will be offers coming up over the run up to the new year.
  3. Hi All, We are running a very successful Diet and Fitness Club to support people to lose weight, eat healthier and become more active. We have only been running the programme since January this year, and every single client who has joined and finished the 8 week programme has lost weight! The programme is delivered by a Health Trainer who works at Zest. She is experienced in offering diet and fitness advice to adults and children, and is very friendly and non judgmental. The programme offers 8 weeks of nutritional advice to make sure you are eating the right portions and are having a balanced diet. Alongside this we also offer an activity session, for members of this club, so that you can carry out an activity especially designed for this programme in a safe and private environment. The programme is offered every Monday from 1pm. you can ring us for an appointment or just drop in on the day!! Contact Dianne for more information on 0114 2702040 ext 235. Please see our website for more details: http://www.zestcommunity.co.uk/new-z...a-fitness-club

  5. Hi there, I work as the Service Manager for the Watch It Service. We are NHS Sheffield funded and work with overweight children and their families. We offer a 3 month service to help families to support the child to lose weight, increase activity levels and to become healthier. Please take a look at our website for further information; http://www.zestcommunity.co.uk .....and look for watch it. Sadly at the moment we are in the process of applying for further funding. If you complete a referral form for your daughter, then we will be able to contact you in August to offer you a service (it may be us, or another organisation who get the funding). I think you will find coming to a programme really supportive, as you will get advice on portion sizes, healthy eating, the chance to meet other families who are in the same situation and an activty aimed to support overweight children. All the best. Naz.

  8. Hi All, We offer the WATCH IT service, which support overweight and obese children to lead healthier lifestyles. The programme is FREE to join and is open to children aged 7-14. We ask parents to commit to supporting their children for 3 to 4 months for 1.5 hours each week. In this time we offer: 1 hour of activity for the children- these are often FUN based games played with other children. The idea is to improve children fitness levels and improve self confidence! 30 minute 1:1 with your dedicated Health Trainer who will work with you and your child and to inform you about nutritional information. This includes advice on portion sizes, balanced diet, how to increase activity levels at home etc. If you are interested in registering your child or want an informal chat, please phone Naz on 0114 270 2040 ext 216. OR check out our website for further information: http://www.zestcommunity.co.uk p.s. Once a family registers with the service, we will invite you to an information session which tells you and your child more about the programme. If you like what you hear, we will then enroll you with a personal trainer at a venue of your choice. Once your child enrolls, you are invited to our watch it swimming session as well as other activities we have on offer.

  11. Hi All, I just wondered if anyone goes to Don valley gym? If so, is it any good? Currently i go to Hillsbrough, but there are 80% men in the weights section...and it's a bit off putting. :-( and can someone please direct me towards where the entrance is to the Don Valley Gym and how to get into it? I have looked on the website and am still a bit confused. Is it past the English Institute of sport or more closer to the Ice rink? I will be coming from Sheffield city centre. Many thanks!
