  1. surely it is described as a long piece of stick? now i'm confused
  2. Have you looked at the drop in office space at Spaceworks/Harland Works? Very reasonable prices.
  3. Have you had any business advice or spoken to someone at Sheffield Enterprise? http://www.senta.co.uk/
  4. How about Jameson's Café and Tea Rooms on Abbeydale Road - lovely food in there: http://www.jamesonstearooms.co.uk/ But don't dare the cake tapas unless you've had no breakfast - it's a challenge but you can't stop eating it as it's so delicious and then you need to snooze it off for the afternoon!
  5. I don't Steve, it's just something I have experienced previously which I am trying to avoid
  6. Can anyone please recommend a couple of agencies who deal with the more senior level admin roles? Who is easy to work with and who will send you CV's which don't meet your criteria? TIA
  7. Crafty Business is a networking meeting with a difference. Networking to grow your business, collaborate, support and learn from each other. You don't need to be an experienced crafter or work in a craft related business. All you need is an interest in seeing what other people are doing, plenty of business cards and the willingness to give some of the crafts a try. Friendly people and it's not expensive - usually under £6 for the meetings. http://crafty-business.weebly.com Facebook Group: CraftyBusinessSheffield Twitter: @CraftyBizSheffield
  8. Hi Manzanita, I would say networking both generally and in your chosen profession would be helpful too. Good luck.
  9. Many of these sites are putting on festival style entertainment - bands and so on which of course will cost them extra to put on to make an event of it so they are more festival prices but it should be a great atmosphere. How many times in our lifetime will the Tour de France come through Yorkshire! Here is another site to consider - Cowell Cycle Camp http://cyclecamp.weebly.com/
  10. Also helps if you follow up on posts you've made so people feel more inclined to help you out.
  11. I'm looking to hire a data projector for Thursday afternoon - can anyone give me a referral to somewhere that hires them? I've always used the venue provided ones before but I can't get one for this Thursday so need to take one with me. Many thanks.
  12. Well I went to Highfields library this afternoon but as it turns out they are closed on Thursdays, bah.
  13. thanks for the suggestions - I believe the nearest library is Highfields so will have to check that out. I do occasionally use SHU (currently studying part time) or central library but I there is time lost travelling in. Teeny - where is thelmas?
  14. Does anyone know of a good place to sit and work for a couple of hours in the Nether Edge or Abbeydale Road area? Most of the week I work on client premises or am travelling but sometimes I just need to take myself and the laptop off to work on a report or something and find a change of scenery useful. Any ideas?
