  1. I suggested there should be a few stalls, not "crammed". The market stalls currently down the Moor are never fully let anyway, so it would in no way be crammed like it is when the continental market comes.
  2. Yes i have, and yes most of it looks rubbish, but that's not the point. Most goods in high street shops are poor quality nowadays, except they are dressed up in a well lit store. Just because there is going to be a new indoor market i don't see why market traders shouldnt have the opportunity to trade from a decent pitch with high pedestrian flow. There have been street markets for centuries, why should only the big stores get the prime spots? The little man trying to earn a living for himself gets shoved in a corner down the quiet ends of town.
  3. A few market stalls wouldnt do any harm, depending on the goods they are aloud to sell and the quality/appearance of the stalls.
  4. how exactly? because you like blandness and every town to look the same? It's great having the choice of about 6 mobile phone shops and clothes shops like H&M (hmmm clothing of much poorer quality than most market stalls, except with Madonna or some other celebs mug all over the shop windows). Not all markets sell rubbish, they sell things people need, just like Wilkinsons dofor example, or are Wilkinsons the acceptable corporate version of a market that the general public wants nowadays?
  5. I find it unbelievable so many of you think it's acceptable to just tell the stallholders tough luck and "bugger off to Rotherham" Sheffield Fargate is hardly decent anyway, same old multi-national shops you see on every high street in the country, very bland and boring with zero character. I think a few market stalls would be alright, but not as many as when the (so called) "continental" market is there because there simply isn't enough custom to go around anyway, let alone space. Fargate will become quieter as the retail centre shifts to Sevenstone, as the new shops are built i think you'll find more shops units elsewhere sitting empty. Some people say the Moor is a dump because of the market stalls, but even without the market stalls it would be crap - name one shop down there worth going in, Atkinsons? lol, Debenhams? the whole concrete canyon is depressing.
  6. I thought a retailer was free to refuse to sell anything to anyone he/she wants?
  7. no one is being ripped off, people aren't forced to pay the high prices at gun point. don't wanna pay £100's of pounds? then walk on by, some other fool will buy them so why should the sellers care? good luck to 'em i say. Nintendo should make more - i find it hard to believe they can't keep up with demand after all these months of production.
  8. perhaps not greedy, but you'd be mad to not take 3 or 4 times what you payed for it!! Anyone wanna buy a DS?? lol, only kidding.
  9. All these "shortages" of consoles this xmas (and last) - seems crazy to pay over the odds for something which has been in supply all year, and has been available for around 3 years (DS has anyway). The power of marketing i guess. on a side note - Game in Meadowhall had Wii's yesterday, not sure about DS's
  10. Was the basket a whicker type basket? the gate must have hit her quite hard to damage it, they seem pretty lightweight to me. I suspect you won't get a replacement basket unfortunately, there would be a lot of claims if Morrisons paid out for this. It's no different if, for example, a regular door hits you, you can't claim for that, it's just a risk you have to take when out and about. Shop at Morrisons at your own risk i guess! Those barriers seem rather pointless to me anyway, but hey...
  11. something like - question 1 "have you ever, or do you steal from your employer" yes or no question 2 "have you lied in this poll" yes or no lol
  12. it would be interesting to know (although probably impossible to find out) how many people on low paid/minimum wage jobs steal from their employees and think they're entitled because the money's crap.
  13. "Christmas Bonus" is that what you call theft nowadays? I need to steel my Christmas bonus then i guess, seeing as it's ok in some people's book.
  14. I personally wouldn't grass him up for it, but i'd make it awkward for him or any other bus driver to steal from his employer by asking for a correct ticket. It'll come back on him eventually if he does it regularly. Theft is wrong whoever it's from, it's nothing do with being 'whiter than white' it's about being honest. You don't steal from your employer just because you don't get paid much - simple really.
