  1. Nowt wrong apart from the fact that the dome doesn't inflate, the pitches freeze over in winter and the changing facilities are worthy of a well run pub team. Take off your Chansiri tinted glasses and wake up to how he's been running the club into the ground for years.
  2. This group will be severely impacted by the new facilities. The size of the MUGA is being considerably reduced, limiting what this worthwhile group can offer. https://www.sheffieldcycling4all.org/ How often do you use Hillsborough Park now and will you be using the new courts and cafe?
  3. I have read the article, if you can call it that; it's virtually a council press release. it does not say anywhere within that text that the council are selling off land, why would it? The council are trying to sugar coat a money making deal that they have concocted with a private company where both parties will profit. If you want to read an article about how people who care about Hillsborough Park feel about the deal you describe as sounding good, take a look at this https://jusmedia.co.uk/theedge/2023/11/09/friends-of-hillsborough-park-announce-they-are-dissolving/?fbclid=IwAR049gh3rCNU4YWutGX79eI9oJ3uiJktukFiF_RcV_jMTq7oIinnbOcCfP4
  4. The Council selling off free to use community assets to a private company to build pay and play facilities and a cafe that's not needed; great news!!!
  5. How many of those 10s of thousands of people who had a great time live away from Hillsborough and have the use of a local park? I don't because my local park was trashed by 10's of thousands of people who had a great time.
  6. I always get my shoes from Charles Clinkard in Meadowhall and buy online for trainers.
  7. Sheffield Croquet Club, the City's only community croquet club, where membership is open to all ages, abilities and experience are hosting pay and play sessions this summer. Booking is via Eventbrite https://pay-and-play-croquet-sheffield.eventbrite.co.uk If you have ever fancied giving this sport of skill and strategy a try, click the link and have a look. Croquet is suitable for all ages, and can enhance physical, mental and social well-being without being physically demanding. Sheffield Croquet Club is based at Hillsborough Park, lawn number 2, opposite Hillsborough Trinity Methodist Church.
  8. I saw it on Thursday, a brilliant show. I read in the programme that it is being developed for television. It might work in London if they change a few things. Take the football references for example; they could have the Park Hill thug wear a Millwall badge instead of a Blades one and the old joke about loving "Sheffield Wednesday more than me" could be replaced by loving Chelsea...
  9. I used to, it's my only bus into town. It takes an age because of the route that it takes and, as the thread says, is extremely unreliable. Our old bus, the 14, went direct to town via Middlewood Road and Langsett Road. Since the 52a started running when it wants, rather than to a timetable, I have been walking the mile into Hillsborough to catch the quicker and more reliable tram service; not everyone is able to do this.
  10. Where do you look for advance publicity for emergency works? The situation was all over Twitter, postings by The BBC, The Star and local residents. That's how I found out about it and adapted my route to avoid the worst of the jams.
  11. PA Jewellery replaced the battery in my quartz Omega Aqua Terra for £50, including pressure testing and certificate. I always send my automatic Seamasters to Omega for servicing, the last time I had one done it cost £400.
  12. IIRC, Vito's was Pepe's. Vito worked there and bought it from the previous owner, Pepe Scime, in the early 90's
