  1. We are at war with these lunatics, like it or not. Taking a backward stance will not work and still make us vulnerable to attacks. Now is the time to take this threat head on and see what resolve they have in a proper fight. No doubt there will be repercussions, but whose to say there wouldn't be anyway.
  2. We can stop calling them IS or Islamic State for a start. They are terrorists, with no conscience for who they target or kill. Don't give them credence by giving them a label that promotes their so called cause. Islamic Scum has a better ring to it.
  3. Adapt and change? If we were talking a few hundred jobs, then maybe some may have been able to do so. The problem is, we are talking of thousands. What world do you live in?
  4. Have you seen any of our British Army beheading innocent people on the internet? If you have, you might have a point.
  5. I'm from Nottinghamshire. I didn't work in the mines but my Dad did and lots of my mates. I see local shops, pubs and businesses closed, on the back of that. Employment in these communities is hard to find. Not only on a employment basis, but surely an economic basis too, these areas could have continued to prosper. Is the money being paid in benefits to these communities considerably less than subsideries paid to the coal industry? Even if it is, what price on people's respect for actually working for a living. Let's not also forget, that Thatcher used the Falklands conflict as an election campaign. It was avoidable, but she was happy to swap men's lives for votes. I detest the woman and know I'm not alone.
  6. I couldn't agree more. That woman is soley responsible for destroying local communities in the area I live and it's not Yorkshire.
  7. When riding the escalator, why does the legs of some people cease to work? Do they not realise that walking at the same time as riding, gets you to the top of the escalator quicker?
  8. Nice touch, made me think of my own dear Dad. My deepest respects.
  9. Token 4 in today's Sun is MEAL. If anyone needs any tokens i'm sure i've still got Monday's and Saturday's edition at home and will gladly send them.
  10. It's a mining village that went downhill when the pit shut. Welbeck Colliery then re-opened, however it's again soon to close. If you don't mind me asking, why is your friend looking at Warsop?
  11. I was born in Warsop(nobody calls it Market Warsop) and educated at the Meden School. At the time it was a nice little village and the school was great. I now live in Mansfield, where there are many good areas and wouldn't think of living in Warsop. My 2 sons have both attended what was Sherwood Hall School, but is now known as Samworth Academy. It is a very good school and both lads have done well. I have friends that still live in Warsop, most wish they were in Mansfield. It is only about 5 miles from Mansfield, but there is very little there.
  12. This is particularly irritating at lunch time, when you have a limited time to get around the shops. Why can't people walk as they ride? I must say women tend to be the biggest culprits!
