  1. Definitely open as normal. Was in there last night till about 2am.
  2. Strangely enough I'm just in the Staffordshire Arms now and off to the Mangla shortly. Will update in a bit.
  3. Here you go... http://mongoliaorbust.org/ I think they are in Barkers Pool today.
  4. http://soyo.me/ Mainly under 30 age group. Chart and dance music in main room and 90's RnB in Yo Bar. It's a good night. Busiest between 11 and 1. Open till 1.30.
  5. Don't rely on any of these being accepted. Only a current driving licence (inc. Provisional) or a current passport is accepted at many town bars/clubs.
  6. This stereotypical attitude is simply wrong, and certainly does not apply to the door team at Soyo who are experienced and professional. Reasonable force has to be used on occasions, but only when necessary.
  7. My bold. The doorstaff were stood outside in the rain ! They don't stand in the doorway as it needs to be kept clear at all times.
  8. How many times should they ask before they stop trying? Once? twice? three times perhaps? Or maybe even four times (as in the case of the OP ?).
  9. Hmmmm... Saturday's are extremely busy in Soyo with a high volume of people going in and out of the small doorway entrance. There isn't time nor room to stand about trying open an umbrella in the doorway without a crush quickly developing or the umbrella poking other customers in the head. The doorstaff have to keep the doorway clear at all times and will ask people to move first. Customers have a habit of ignoring these polite requests to move though so sometimes a firmer approach needs to be taken. The door team at Soyo are experienced and professional.
  10. When the driving licence is presented fraudulently as ID, the Door Supervisor has no idea of who the person in front of them actually is. This may be a kid that has borrowed the ID of an older relative, or it may, on the other hand, be any manner of criminal using stolen/forged/false ID. The Door Supervisor also has a duty to protect children from harm - who knows what could have happened to a 15 year old in town drinking unsupervised. The ID will simply be passed to the Police. The genuine owner of the ID will have to visit the Police to get the ID back and maybe face some awkward questions as to how it came to be used fraudulently. Offences under the fraud act probably have been committed (fraud by misrepresentation/possession of artices for use in fraud) but I doubt that the person using the ID in this case will be prosecuted - more likely a caution if anything. I am a Door Supervisor that sees this every week in Town and also a Fraud Investigator BTW.
  11. I've lived there for 5 years now and am happy here. The new houses are fine and the area is pleasant mostly. Only minutes away from the town centre and the park is lovely. There are no pubs though and only 1 shop (2 if you count the chemist that I understand won't be there much longer). Feel free to pm with any specific questions.
  12. Stumbled on these by accident last night - proper music how it should be played- absolutely fantastic.
  13. Lads, I can offer you an indoor game on a Thursday night at the SWD Olive Grove pitch at Heeley. We play at 9:30pm, the standard is average, most of the lads are around 30 and it is just a friendly kick around for an hour. Turn up, pick sides, and play. £3 for each game and we probably need another 2 or 3 regular players. PM me if interested.
