  2. Hi I just thought it was only right that I should warn people about a veterinary surgery based in High Green, not the one near the phoenix (not allowed to name and shame but they deserve to be named.) A few months ago my dog was sick so I took him to this vets everything was going ok the staff where nice and helpful as we neared the end of my dogs condition I was asked for another insurance claim form, I explained that I had already brought one in to which I was told that they had already made the claim and this was just to add additional items on to the claim and was assured that I had paid all I had to. Then about 2 months after I had finished needing to take my dog to the vets I received a bill through the post for another 60 odd pound! I phoned the vets who are adamant that I owe them this money even though they had promised me I wouldnt need to pay anything else. I took to the principal who was a complete a**e hole and basically demanded money so I thought it was onlt fair to warn either clients or would be clients of this surgery to get them to put it writing whenever they communicate with you! I wish I had listened to rumours surrounding this practice before hand
  3. you make me laugh my road in Chapeltown is still the original road that was laid by prisoners of war during WWII as for the paths I have been thrown out of my wheelchair a few times but still the council wont mend them if they had put in any speed bumps at least they would have used tarmac as the roads are concrete
  4. Look at it other way, what if there wasn't so many people in cars there wouldn't be as much traffic and less pollution then you would be moaning saying there isn't enough buses:loopy:
  5. I keep posting this but every time it gets bunged back in the disabled section again (talk about being labelled) before moving it AGAIN why don't you read the first sentence it states why I put it here! young stroke survivors Sheffields branch of different strokes, I know that is in the wrong forum but this for people that arent stroke survivors but know people that are! 7. Just so everyone is aware you DON'T need any referral, just be a young stroke survivor or their carer Saturdays at 1 at the zest centre Upperthorpe (Upperthorpe library)
  8. I know this is in the wrong section but thought this would reach people that arent stroke survivors but know people that are Hi were part of different strokes support for younger stroke survivors http://www.differentstrokes.co.uk/ we hold an exercise class every Saturday at Zest centre Upperthorpe 1pm till 3pm our facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/chris.allsopp.73 if you have any questions ask here or here http://www.sohoos.com/me/differentstrokes come along even if its just to see what its all about! see you there
  9. Yeah i did see this one but its aimed at people with learning difficulties. This is aimed at the rest of us disabled and carers if desired no offence but we deserve our own night where we arent limited to one club, but can call at as many pubs we wanted and maybe call for something to eat whether thats at restaurant or grabbing a bab while changing pubs lol! Im all for inclusion thats why its aimed at a general disabled people and not for example just stroke survivors or people who have lost a limb whilst playing hop scotch on a train track! But at least I know people are reading the thread.
  10. Hi my names Rich, I have searched the internet for nights out for the disabled but couldn't find one, not sure if its because no ones interested or if no one can be bothered? anyway I thought I would organise one to see if there is any interest! The night is open to everyone no matter what your disability it is also for carers who fancy a night out. I suffered a stroke 5 years ago and haven't really been out since I'm sure there must be others that are in a similar situation or maybe you just fancy meeting new people I wont arrange a time and date yet.
  11. Hi were is the best place to get raw food from? My dog is roughly 12kg how much should he be fed and roughly whats the? I think once his teeth have been done this might be the way forward cheers
  12. Hi i feed him dry food (bakers) as i was told it would help keep his teeth clean!
  13. Hi I own a cocker spaniel and have tried to clean his teeth on numerous occasions but he just breaks free and runs off and with me being disabled theres nothing I can do! I have also tried plaque off and denta sticks. He is insured but the insurance doesnt cover his teeth! I took him for his booster last week and the vet at abbey vetinary service said he needs scale and polish and quoted me £200 which I cant afford I have been told about the PDSA but I am unsure whether or not they will do teeth or whether they will say its cosmetic? Failing that does anyone know anywhere cheaper? Plus the vet said that by leaving them it would make my dog unhappy but I cant get my head around this as wild dogs dont need a dentist!
