  1. Just saw this after getting a notification in this thread. He now owns Born Lucky Barbershop in Fulwood.
  2. Born Lucky Barbershop. The guy used to work at Savills, has been on the cover for Vogue Italia, does training events across the world. I used to use Savills but get fed-up of making appointments and still having to sit around waiting for them to finally be free, don't even consider trying to do a walk in unless you want to wait 2 hours. It's about £7 cheaper than Savills too plus plenty of free parking all around.
  3. We're looking for a cleaner for Middlewood/Wadsley Park Village. 4 bed town house (but only 1 actually used as a bedroom). Looking for fortnightly.
  4. I imagine CrossFit Sheffield has one. I know CrossFit Rotherham has 1 or 2.
  5. If it was a hit and run, then maybe it's the car drivers that should take heed?
  6. This wasn't some guy ditching a car and legging it, the car was totalled so there was no chance it was moving. The guy moving parts was already surrounded by 10+ people, a van, a car and a bus had all stopped at the scene. I'll give them a call but i'm 99% sure it wasn't related to the gentleman on the bike, just some people putting 2 and 2 together to get 5.
  7. I got there at about 06:50 and it was already closed, saw one paramedic. I ended up looping back round the Kelham island Tesco > Shalesmoor Roundabout onto Penistone Road and then saw what i'm assuming is people referring to as the abandoned car. If people are suggesting it was the light blue Peugeot, then I'm doubtful. That crash looked like it had only just happened as a man (possibly driver) was clearing parts of bumper off the road and no emergency services had arrived yet.
  8. It shouldn't be if you are passing them in a place safe to do so, and affording them the correct amount of space. If you think it's scary passing them, then imagine how it feels for them? At least the driver has a tonne of metal surrounding them, with airbags and seatbelts. Cycling on Sheffield's roads is terrifying, half the time it's dodging pot holes, and the other half it's dodging car's who aren't paying attention. Just last night I had a guy trying to overtake me despite the fact I was doing the speed limit and the car in front was not making any ground one me. I ended up taking the primary position and the driver just drove along side me trying to force me into the secondary position. I only cycle only for pleasure and short trips, and drive 50 miles commute each day. In the car it's bad enough watching other people never check their mirrors, never signal, drive at stupid speeds but at least I know I'm surrounded by a cage of metal, it's a completely different game when you've got a helmet, and maybe some gloves to protect you.
  9. BMW's yeah? Can't be talking about cyclists as even the most backwards person realises you ride a bike, not drive it.
  10. I have the misfortune of this roundabout daily and these traffic lights have made it near unusable at times. Todays example. People coming off the M1 going South, who wish to go towards Sheffield have a new set of lights to deal with. These lights cause the cars to queue up and back down onto the slip road. When those coming from Sheffield/M1 Northbound lights change (just before the slipway) they find the way completely blocked off and have to wait until the other light moves to green plus the time for the cars to filter through. This roundabout had no issues, it flowed perfectly fine, you now have issues whereby even though no traffic is coming in your direction (if everyone is filtering towards Sheffield and not towards M1 North) you have to wait at a red light, for it only to temporarily turn green and let 3-4 cars out. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Everyone at work who drives from Sheffield has complained in the past week about it. ---------- Post added 07-05-2013 at 12:36 ---------- At peak peak peak times then yes, there were issues with traffic coming from Hoyland getting backed up onto the previous roundabout. However now they seem to have attempted to remedy this with a set of lights allowing those cards to filter out onto the roundabout. The problem with this is: - The lights now cause 2 or 3 other flash points on the M1 roundabout that previously didnt exist. - It fundamentally doesn't work, the lights can only be green for a short period of time (other wise the queues become huge on the M1 roundabout) and because of this the cars still have to queue to get on, the queue still ends up long and all over the Hoyland roundabout. I witnessed this 2/3 times last week already.
  11. Is Hillsborough parkrun now a weekly event? When I lived on Brocco bank I used to potter down but since moving to Kelham Island I've been missing it, would love to start going again if Hillsborough is up and running.
  12. I'm going to have to check these places now, I loved it when it first arrived in the UK but since have only seen it in the US Sweet Shops and I'm not paying that much each time I have a craving, excellent.
  13. The other week i was driving down the parkway towards Sheffield, just past asda when some Van in the inside lane that i had already driven past (not at any speed, just following the flow of traffic) pulls out to behind me, puts his footdown to tail gate me and then pulls back into the inside lane, pulls along side me and proceeds to swear at me outside of this window. Then he slows back down, changes his mind, speeds back up, undertakes me and cuts me up forcing me to slam my breaks on. The mind boggles.
