  1. weve used frontline plus before and it worked great for our cats. we use it now and again amd thankfully fingers it stays like this we havent seen a single flea on our cat or in the house since. (we had 2 cats but one went missing) our cat is mainly outdoor cat and in the past few years the only things hes come home with is a few cuts from fights ans 1 tiny tick on his head. not found anything else thankfully.
  2. Thank you max. Wel try our best to keep him in. Wish he was more of an indoor cat but nope hel come for food, a snuggle now and again then wants to be out again. Going to be really hard to get him to use litter tray again too but wel manage some way :-)
  3. Thank you midge cat il have a read tonight. Ye he's microchipped and will change as soon as we move :-D
  4. Benson hedges - I never said he isn't vaccinated did I? He is upto date with his jabs wormed and fleed. I needed to know of there were any special jabs he needed for being in a cattery. I've never needed to use a cattery before so didn't know if his routine yearly vaccinations were enough or he needed extra once to go into boarding. He goes to the vets for routine check up's and so far he's also passed his health checks etc, fingers crossed he continues to pass then too. Don't say I shouldn't be a cat owner when you don't have the full info. Thank you peaches and pitnjules , il keep in before and while we're away and introduce him slowly outside. My mum in law will make sure and us too to keep the inside door shut first before we open the door to outside so he doesn't have the chance to escape :-)
  5. Hello everyone. We are moving house to about 5 mins away in the car. end of stocksbridge to end of deepcar. We have a 4yr old nuetered mainly out door male cat. We will be in our house about 3 weeks before we go away on holiday for 1 week. Im worried about our cat. my mum inlaw will be popping over at least once a day to feed him etc. But my main concern is would he be settled enough in the area to be outdoors when we are away, will he get lost ect. how long should I keep him indoors until I let him out again, he can get pretty stressed/house abusive while in all the time. He barely uses a litter tray and he loves being outdoors. im sorry if im not making any sense here. Would it be best to put him in a cattery during the week away or risk him in our new home/new surrounds etc on his own. once the door is open he usually darts out the door, so during the time wel be opening doors etc while settling him in Id have to lock him away in a room or put him in a crate Ive never moved before with a cat who loves to be outdoors so Ive got so much going round my head fears that hel escape and get lost, fears that hel be unsafe when we go on holiday (even tho my mum inlaw will pop round and feed him ect. please can anyone help and give me tips/guidance. if we have to put him in a cattery what jabs etc will he need,
  6. my mum lives in Grenoside. Il ask her to keep an eye out for him. hope hes home soon
  7. Hi I got my cat microchipped about 3 yrs ago. I have lost his mircochip info and also forgot where I got him chipped. his details has my old number on it and I need to update it. Do you know if there is a way to change his details even tho I dont know who he is chipped with? Its the same with my other cat ( sadly she went missing last year she too has my old number on her chip but i cant find her documents either. I got her chipped at rspca sheffield branch about a year ago.
  8. MISSING: Our female ferret escaped her hutch 4 days ago and still no sign of her. She's an adult jill, silver colour with tints of yellow. She has started to loose fur and is booked in to see the vet this week. she is not chipped and has no collar. Went missing in S36 Stocksbridge in the paterson area near the fire station. If you have seen her could you message me asap please. Unfortunately she isn't so keen on strangers, we miss her so much and would like her to come home. Thank you This is the only photo I have of her at hand, will try and find a recent one but she hasnt changed much from this photo just bigger. http://i643.photobucket.com/albums/uu158/MLOH-01/1483054_10151748303800718_384350259_n.jpg
  9. MISSING S36 STOCKSBRIDGE Our black (tints of brown) female cat has not been home for 4 days and were getting worried. Its normal for her to not return for a day or two but its been 4 days now. She has the odd scabs on the head/neck and a patch on one of her back elbows thats starting to grow back fur. Shes a shy gentle cat. Wearing no collar but is microchipped and spayed. Please if you have Spotted her or shes made a new life with you could you please message me. We are really missing her and also my other cat is missing her.
  10. Chez leave it. if they want a female let them have a female. its best to tell the child the truth from the start, especially with her being autistic, she wont be 8yrs old forever and when she gets older she will find out one way or another that if the cat is male or female, she could hear it from someone talking about the cat etc. and if she finds out that people have been lying to her it will really hurt and can damage the child mentally again especially with her being autistic.
  11. Il ring vets first thing in the morning, hoping some will be open due to it being bank holiday. its really puzzled me about the swelling. I know there has been a few ferrets go missing in the past momth but not entirely close by, so doubt shed have found a friend duno.
  12. Il ring that vet on tuesday and enquire about spaying and jill jab. thank you for the help. Dont want her to get ill and Im not breeding her so will def get her done. while shes been missing her private part was swollen before she escaped (dad in-law) says it swells when in heat. But ive just checked her now and shes not swollen anymore its gone down at least half the size it was. does this mean something. Shes our first and we dont talk to my dad inlaw anymore (he breeds ferrets) so we cant ask him for any advice now :-( xx
