  1. hi piquant, i packed a good job in earlier this year in recruitment after realising it wasnt for me and couldnt do it for the rest of my life.it was a hard decision as at my age(36) im no spring chicken and need a income...i am currently training at night school to be a barber (something ive always fancid doing) and am enjoying it...i ope to open a shop early next year. and to fit round my studies i am currently pounding the streets as a postman( which i hate) but the money isnt 2 bad and i know there is light at end of the tunnel...i think that you show follow your dreams and go for what you want as life is to short and i missed opportunities when i was younger and now regret so i am training to do something i want to do and although at the moment things are tight and hard work i know i made the right decision good luck and go for it
  2. the photo under my user name is my dog "jed" he is nearly 18 years old and i have had him since he was 8 weeks. he is doing ok at the moment but back legs have started to let him down and is nearly deaf. i am really dreading the inevitable after all the things we have been through together, but i think he still has a good while left yet. he still acts like a pup at times and i love him to bits
  3. its inbetween london road and eccy road near the dvla place just up from waitrose:)
  4. does the friday meet at killamarsh leisure centre still happen? cos i was thinking of going along if not can you tell me how much it costs at graves thanks
  5. wasabi sabi is lovely for something different mite need to book though as it is very popular
  6. i was indeed born in 1970, my memories are as follows... we use to go in the bologne pub on the corner of ladies bridge then upto alleycats and turnups because that is where we could get in i was 16 and wore one of my dads old suits i must have looked hideous but thought i was the dogs b******s and i pulled a 23yr lass so i only just got myself and huge ego out of the door to be sick all down the girls ra-ra skirt(i never saw her again!!!). around 88 we started going to cairojax (only in the cooler jax side though) and went thurs fri sat every week we would meet next door in silks. i think you either went to cairos or roxys it was like a rival thing. we always used to say the dolies went to roxys and if you had money you went to cairos but that was probably our immaturity at the time. i also remember going to the limit on west street late 80s early 90s i think, we use to s**t ourselves though going to the toilets cos once my mate went and was closing the door and this black lad barged in the cubical and demanded all his money with a knife but cos of the rep the club had my mate had put his money in his sock so gave the lad 20p and got out....them were the days!!!
  7. cheers for the info mate and yes you are right i probably have pushed myself to hard as i have a "the more i try the better i become" mentallity and also am just using some cross training trainers out of the cupboard. i will have to save up for some proper running trainers and go down to the shop for advice.
  8. hi i recently started running also mainly to lose weight and i have lost 1 1/2 stone(yeaaah). i can manage upto 6.5 mile now only thing is my shins really hurt the next day and sometimes whilst running....can anyone tell me what this is..why they start hurting...and what i can do to prevent it cheers
  9. yeah... white sox and jesus sandals with half mast trousers is a good option...Or what about a complete town poser who hasn't got the looks or any fashion sense but think they look ace and are gods gift to women what would they have worn in the 80s early 90s??......or maybe the 70s pimp look?(that mite be too obvious though)
  10. yes its japenese, sell all different things we had to ask the very helpful waitress for advice and she picked a great variety of things for us to try, noodles, sushi, vegetables and meat tempura(in spicey batter). i had deep fried icecream for desert which was great.
  11. as anyone got any great ideas for a fancy dress do im going on(my work leaving do). The theme i have picked is Badtaste ie everyone has to wear really badtaste clothing- oldstyle shellsuits, loud shirts with medallions hairy chest and orange tans, halfmast trousers with white sox, u get the drift... any suggestions????(i'm male by the way) its on 3rd june on weststreet, if you see us(about 15 of us),give us a shout and a whistle cheers
  12. just wanted to say that we went for the first time on saturday and thought the food and atmosphere was great.will definately be going again,if you havn't been i would recommend it:)
  13. having lived there a few years ago now it is a lovely place although is a bit local!(if you know what i mean eg they seem to prefer local people born round that area) but dont let that put you off, it is expensive (or maybe not) but is a lovely area if youre not quite ready for true rural living. i would recommend it.
  14. Or what ever they call it!!!! anyway just booked some flights to ibiza from there and wondered if anyone on here has used the airport yet and if so a) whats it like and b)would it be cheaper to leave the car there or get a taxi from s12 cheers
