  1. We had my wifes 30th at Crsytal Bar on Carver St (in between West St and Division St) in the City Centre, it was great, we were able to hire out one of the rooms for part of the evening and had some food as well. Best to give Hayley a call she was fantastic in organising it all. 0114 272 5926.
  2. Yeah I've just stuck my head in after coming out of Coles and it looks fantastic... I was even able to get into the main room and god it looks good, there’s a huge mural on one of the walls and the bars are looking great ! - Their manager was there and he was spot on, and he mention that it’s going to be over 20's on a Friday and Saturday! - Its amazing where you can get into wearing a suit... Can not wait for the opening! - Its definitely the 27th April...
  3. The Crystal website is something that is being worked on by us at present. It will be improved and more user friendly. Any positive, constructive criticisms are welcomed, feel free to PM me. Thanks.
  4. Firstly I can not believe that this discussion has been going for almost 2 and a half years... - Surely that can’t be right??? If so it just shows how much of an issue and interest to people inner city living and development is. I have a one bed in the Wards Brewery development which my wife and I have just moved out after three happy happy years in there... - Where has time gone, she was only my girlfriend and I a young wiper snapper from London Town when we moved in .... Anyway I digress. The point is that without repeating what everyone else who is for the new developments has already said a good few times, (sorry if I do, but gave up after reading about five pages of comments) take it from someone who’s has experienced the inner city living and now lives in a nice three bed suburban house with a nice garden and all the benefits of a house, I really MISS the flat, sure it was small and you got idiots making noise every now and then but over all it was brill. I really do miss it and will make my next move back into the City into a larger apartment if I could, (will have to see if the wife will okay it thought ! - Sad isn’t it!) I think the point is no matter what people think, developments will happen and for the City to grow these are a GOOD thing to this great City I now call home. I lived in London all my live until three years ago, and I wouldn’t go back there, instead I find it an exciting time to be living and working in a City that is on the verge of great things not just with new living developments but with all the development that is has going on at the moment. So long live the new City Centre developments!!!
  5. Thought I was initially, but then seeing the look, on my girlfriends panicked faced.... No that was not from waking next to me, but the thought that we were under attack !!! I realised that I was not dreaming, and it went on for a good 5 minutes !!!! Very puzzled !!!
  6. I think it was near the United ground near Bramall Lane..... I think, still trying to get me bearings in this City.....
  7. What was with the fireworks at about 4:30 this morning ???? Does anyone know why about 100 fireworks were let off at about 4:30 AM this morning which kindly woke me with the panic that we were being bommed !!!
  8. Thank was me before the slim fast diet, now with just one shake for breakfast and one for lunch.......
  9. Also done ! PS Great site Geoff, keep up the good work !
  10. Right, I will aim to add a southerner’s perspective to this tale. I was born and bred in London, and moved to Sheffield permanently 6 months ago. I have been coming here for the last 15 years at weekends to visit my dad who lives out in the Peak District in Froggatt. Now 26 years of age, I have also had a sister who was here at Uni a couple of years ago, so have visited the City throughout my growing years, as a chid, teenager, and adult. I love the City, so much so that I now live here. I work in Leeds, only a couple of hours travel every day, although on the M1, when the suns shines its great scenery, in the morning . (a much more pleasant experience than the London Underground or the now new £5 charge! to drive ) With Leeds being the 2nd largest financial centre outside London, there is a lot of opportunity in the area. Although still capable of a lot of improvement, The feel to Sheffield is what does it for me. Something I find hard to describe. I'm not going to list what there is and what I find great about it, I just want to say that you have a converted Southerner amongst you. The diversity is what gets me, from the beauty of the Peak District to the nastiness of areas I wont mention, I am planning to stay here for a very long time.
