  1. No, I assume that because 10 coppers are at the station stopping nobodies with a little bit of whatever that means that 10 policemen aren't out stopping the real problem criminals. And in that respect I believe I assume correctly, do I not? My *opinion* may apparently breed contempt for our 'hard working public servants', but it appears true to me. Nobody has yet been linked to the shooting the other night, and given the history of the past seven shootings as outlined in todays Star, they probably won't get anyone either- even though it was done in daylight in a busy street. If one or two of said coppers was down in Broomhall at the time it might not have happened: true or false?
  2. Come on... Who really cares about people with recreational drugs anyway? A little bit of something for the weekend? They're just sitting targets for the coppers, easy stats as some have already said. The real problem we have in town is with the smackheads and drunks that hang about all corners of the city centre and make it a very unpleasant place to be in and gangs of youths who seem intent on wiping each other out with guns. But they're very difficult, and dangerous, to deal with. People like Benn can't differentiate between the two types of 'criminal'- major and minor. These Benn types honestly believe that someone with a couple of joints in their pocket is very likely to be a terrorist. Let's thank the Daily Mail et al for that viewpoint. Unfortunately, while the police are stopping these casual users at the station, gangs are shooting and stabbing each other in the suburbs. The 'real' criminals seem to be getting away with it. Large amounts of drugs will no longer be moved around on the train, and will still be flowing into the city from other means. This makes it a massive waste of resources. Catching the end user is a waste of time, in fact I'd be interested to know exactly how much contraband yesterday's operation gathered. I'd bet you anything it's laughably small. And the cost of this operation? Enormous in proportion. But it does look good on the stat sheets, and while the Benns of this world are shouting loudest that's all that seems to matter.
  3. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why the Post Offices are closing all over the country! Customer service training obviously does not exist in this service. A better way to renew your car tax is online. No docs needed as they're all on the DVLA computers, and even better- no grumpy old postmaster to deal with!
  4. It might not be as good a job as it sounds... In the words of Ice T: Pimpin' ain't easy.
  5. Didn't Paul Calf take a sound beating after badmouthing a student who was a black belt in Judo or something similar? I think the student was paying for a bag of chips with a cheque. I'm sure I remember that...
  6. Yes it's a small amount of money, but we don't know how she was behaving at the time. If she was acting like she had a 'right' to be on the tram without the correct fare because she had her kids with her, I'd probably let her walk too- as someone else has already pointed out it won't have done them any harm. And although I'm sure she was distracted by her childs appointment at the hospital, surely she should've double checked she had some money for her trip home... The Star is just reporting another non-story. Boo to them.
  7. I'm a himbo, but I'm very selective
  8. Yeah, but were you there yesterday? Or, more importantly, seven days ago?
  9. Well? Anybody been over there? And yes, I am starting a witch hunt! No, really... And P.S.: I know the furthest many of you have been is to Barnsley, but you've got to ask!
  10. Maybe you'll get to see, but the only reason he's done it is for votes. There's a lot of scousers he can get on-side with that simple move. And my statement on the whole thing is that surely there was enough drunk Wednesdayites or league away fans using that stand every week without any problems. The problem was ticketless supporters who knew it was possible to get into the ground by causing a scene outside. I'm sure there are some very guilty conciences in Liverpool that won't let this issue go away as they know they were at that match without a ticket but are unwilling to admit it... In my opinion, it's much easier to blame 'The Man' in this situation than accept you were in the wrong and have caused the death of your fellow supporters. After all, we didn't have a crush at the Forrest end or at any other Owls game. This does not detract from the horrific nature of that day, and we can all be glad of safety improvements that have come from it. Justice for this 96 needs to look a little closer to home, I think. I await your flaming. I have no doubt I will have upset someone.
  11. As long as we both agree on the first part. I'm sure they'll be pleased with you for admitting it. What? Invades countries in the name of Jesus? And that, ladies and gentlemen, is enough religion-bating for today.
  12. Hang on a minute... Is this someone who's in a cult complaining about people in another cult? Hilarious. Just hilarious.
  13. You know why? Cos moaning gits have got the coppers chasing kids around parks with the chuffing helicopter!
  14. Additional compo's could be: most pints of bitter consumed, most packs of scratchings consumed, fixed time student-baiting, the 'my-area-is-better-than-your-area' shoutoff, who can name more past Wednesday/United players...
