  1. Hi, not sure if this is the best section to put this but it is for my business, so... Could anyone recommend somewhere to buy picture framing glass from? I require it cut to size and I need about 30 pieces reasonably quickly. 2mm float glass is what I'm after?
  2. Yep, that's the one, I wonder where it comes from??
  3. It went right over our house, really low, we watched it out the window and thought it was going to crash for sure, not sure where it ended up, it looked like it was heading for Healey. Judging but the number of times this balloon is mentioned on the forum something needs to be done before it causes damage or injury to someone.
  4. I'm a photographer and web designer, one thing that really lets websites down is poor photography, particularly if it's an on line shop where you're trying to convince visitors that your to be trusted and you have quality products. Obviously a mobile phone isn't going to be any good, if you're taking photos of small products as you suggest you are you need a camera that can focus closer, you need to fill the frame with the product to get the best output. You don't need loads of megapixels for the web though 'cause they'll only be small files. If you can get a camera that can take a reasonable picture I recommend getting a piece of white flexible card, at least A3 size, wait for an overcast day, take it outside and bend it up against a wall or something so that it's flat on a surface but curved up at the back so you have a continues white background. Ideally you really want the camera on a tripod. After that it would help if you knew how to use the camera! But if you do this you'll be some way there. How many products do you need photos of? If it's just a few I may be able to help you out with it. If you PM me the details I'll see if I can help more. Removing the backgrounds isn't really that easy, you might be better off getting a constant plain background.
  5. Oh dear, now that's sounding complicated!
  6. I'm currently selling my parent's old house – in the garden is a plum tree I planted from a stone when I was a child, it's about 30 odd years old now. I'd love to move the whole thing to my garden but realise it'll be far too hard and expensive to do. So I was wondering – would it be possible to take a cutting or something so I can still have a part of it? It's got quite a sentimental value and now my parents are both gone, and soon the house, it'd be great to have a reminder and be able to keep the tree in some way. I'm no gardener so any advice would be most welcome!
  7. I think it'd be a pretty stupid place to go at night on your own if your not pretty sure of yourself. But I'd say that's true of any remote, dark, quite place in a city. I've heard of a few cases of flashes around there, in fact a girlfriend of mine got flashed at up there years ago - she thought it was well funny.
  8. I know bibble well, he's a compulsive lier, he actually sells fruit and veg on the Moor but tells anyone who's willing to listen that he's a games designer. He talks to tomatoes.
  9. Sex offenders can only ever have one email address, it's a little known fact. They also only eat onions and don't believe in using fabric conditioner.
  10. Well yeah, I see your point metthebell, I guess I'm feeling a bit over sensitive today!
  11. Does anyone else think it wrong that Sky News are showing images of the wreck of the plane that crashed in Kent today at a time when the remains of the 5 people on board are still in there? Some people watching this could be friends and loved ones of those who have sadly died, I would image they don't want to be seeing the twisted wreck at this stage.
  12. It's a horrible story, just seen the interview with the detective who was saying the parents of these... children... were laughing about it and not taking it seriously. I think we can deduce from this why these murderers ended up the way they did. I feel so bad for all those who have to deal with the aftermath of their loved one being killed :-(
  13. Well I make furniture - it may not be much cheaper to get one made for you. Making a one off piece of furniture is normally more expensive than most people realise, if something is being repeatedly made jigs can be set up and components turned around quicker. There would normally be a requirement to make a scale model so that proportions can be accurately assessed (you don't want to use hundreds of pounds worth of oak only to discover the legs could do with being a little fatter!). How complicated is the design, what timber is it made from and how much is the table? I have a friend who had some pine furniture made for less than I could do it for by the pine place in Sharrow. Let me know a few more details and I can advise you further - pm me if you like.
  14. I wouldn't worry, if he's hassling people and forcing his beliefs on them whilst they're minding their own business he should be prepared to take anything anyone chucks at him, even comments about his pants. i didn't know they had special underwear - you learn something every day!
