hello, my Ldv van's steering has gone. The problem appears to be corrosion and a leak in a small pipe running between the top and bottom of the steering box. I'm having a bit of a nightmare finding a mechanic in the S8 area (or mobile) that could come and remove the pipe so i can get one made up and then re-install it, has anyone got any recommendations?

If you are wanting to keep noise in a room to avoid annoying your neighbours then that is achievable, even the bass end can be somewhat tamed using a few fairly simple techniques. If your problem is noise coming in through a wall then that limits your options a bit. Best solution i could think of with that one, if the problem is bad/persistent, would be to literally build another wall a few inches infront of the current one using techniques to break up the waves coming through the wall, all this, as the previous poster mentioned, will be somewhat dependent on how much space you're willing to lose from the room. Whilst i'm more in the business of making noise rather than reducing it i'd be happy to pop over and take a look if you like and see if i can offer any help. contact details at http://www.dangernoiseaudio.com

to be fair, i rented a cleaner from them recently and quite dug the oldschool nature of the shop. seemed proper... you say they have a trumped up image but they're a local company who take pride in their work. how can that be seen as a bad thing?
