  1. Frank was a great man, I met him a couple of times. I didn't like the hate he got when he worked with the coalition - David Cameron invited him to act as a poverty tsar. Just a shame he wasn't listened to https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2010/jun/10/frank-field-labour-jobs-guarantee-coalition
  2. There was an Iranian migrant interviewed yesterday. He'd been granted status to stay and live in Greece, but he turned it down because it meant living in a tent. He continued on to the UK because according to him "they give you houses". He can have mine, I'll happily swap for his tent
  3. Planet is goosed. Personally I think its drifting towards the sun, aka "The Day The Earth Caught Fire" and we're not being told. I'm just glad I've got 20 years left in me tops, because I can't see the Earth having more than 50.
  4. But only manages a 3/5 hygiene rating https://www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk/business/imrans-diner-75002.html
  5. Rayner is going nowhere. She likes the perks of being an MP and won't give that up easily, no matter how much it damages Labour. She's had plenty of gaffes during her time in opposition, I'm going to sit back and laugh as she continues to make them and embarrasses herself on a wider world stage as the Deputy PM. If you thought Corybn looked too much of a scruff to be a leader, you ain't see nothing yet!
  6. Full 7 mins of bodycam footage here: https://mynbc15.com/news/nation-world/i-cant-breathe-texas-man-says-moments-before-he-dies-kenneth-wayne-knotts-mental-health-crisis-ut-southwestern-medical-center-dallas-texas-lawsuit-excessive-force-murder-homicide-investigation-death-report-autopsy-mental-health-evaluation
  7. Two different things, and both years apart https://www.theguardian.com/money/2017/apr/23/energy-prices-tory-cap-miliband-freeze Its amusing to see Miliband on his green energy bandwagon and now against all fossil fuels, when just a few years ago he was furious at the Tories for allowing a UK coal mine to close Miliband: Keep worker-owned colliery open Ex-Labour leader pushes for action to save pit https://morningstaronline.co.uk/a-f6e9-miliband-keep-worker-owned-colliery-open-1
  8. Silly comparison. Alcohol has positives. Smoking has absolutely none.
  9. Classic deflection coming from the left about it. Rayner's alleged fraud is nothing compared to the Tories so its OK Red fraud = good Blue fraud = bad
  10. "Remember - we have to be inclusive these days - not all women have ovaries....." ‘I’m as baffled as the next ovary-owner’: navigating the science of treating menopause https://www.theguardian.com/society/2024/apr/01/perimenopause-symptoms-what-are-they-how-to-treat
  11. Yeah, with no money to fund it. A bit like being given a mansion and then finding you can't afford to heat it or pay the council tax. NHS hospital trusts paying hundreds of millions in interest to private firms https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/25/nhs-hospital-trusts-paying-hundreds-of-millions-in-interest-to-private-firms Some hospitals are spending more on PFI debt than they are on drugs https://www.newstatesman.com/spotlight/healthcare/2022/05/pfi-repayments-are-costing-some-hospitals-twice-as-much-as-drugs NHS hospital trusts to pay out further £55bn under PFI scheme Some spending one-sixth of entire budget on repaying debts from Blair-era policy https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/sep/12/nhs-hospital-trusts-to-pay-out-further-55bn-under-pfi-scheme
