  1. Take it down to Real Electronics Castor Road Sheffield S9 ask for Barry tell them Tony sent you
  2. This problem now solved The solution was provided by a member in one of the other sixteen Forums that I joined to clear this problem. Many many thanks to all to contributed So "Problem Solved" :) :) :) :)
  3. Thanks for that,I am now registered on there and spreading my information, sooner or later somebody will see it and give me te gen required
  4. On another Forum,I got this reply:- My reply was:- “Hi There Thanks for that, but I have already tried that although I did not allocate the letter far from C: , if memory serves me right, I made from E: to F:. But I will try that middle of the letters etc and let you know” I did that, but no joy,so my reply was:- Right tried this, I used "P" ( for pi**ed off ) and no it did not work
  5. In answer to your question:- Nothing I had four usb sticks plugged into my hub. This same hub runs my sound system,so each time anything is either plugged or unplugged it makes a sound. I get three sounds,of sticks going in and the last one (no sound)I checked in My Computer and the route directory in Windows Explorer and nothing. I am on four different forums and from what I can gather this is a difficult problem to solve. Each time somebody comes up with a solution I go away and try that solution. The weird thing is I know the sticks work because I can get into them via "My Computer>Right click>Manage>left click on Disk Management" as per my first post. I have also plugged these sticks into my laptops and they show up fine. I have even tried plugging the stick into the port on the tower, yes I know same port that supplies the hub, nothing,in fact all the usb ports and I get the same result. Microsoft do not seem to have an area/page that deals with this problem. It would be interesting to know if anybody has encountered the same problem and how they resolved it or if they just live with it. Oh while I think about it.I re-installed XP and still no joy
  6. Already tried all of the above Weird thing is when I plug it in,I get the sound and I also get the message media found etc, media ready to use etc. Another thing when I go into Disk Management etc I can get to view the contents of the USB stick.
  7. Seems like the vertical hold knob needs a slight tweak I mean SLIGHT tweak nothing more
  8. My route directory does not see the USB drive ( E: ) Yet if I do the following > My Computer>Right click>Manage>left click on Disk Management.I can see TWO drives ( C: ) and my ( E: ) drive. If I go to the box with my ( E: ) drive and right click in there,I can see the contents of this stick. Before you ask yes this stick works perfectly on my laptops. Now it gets even better,I opened Windows Explorer, adjust the area so I could see what was going on,( so I now have three boxes open ) 1, Windows Explorer 2, Computer Management 3, ( E: ) drive, showing the document. I formatted ( E: ) drive and yes you guessed it ( E: ) drive.popped up in Windows Explorer. I closed Windows Explorer with ( E: ) drive. showing then did nothing else and re-opened it,yes you guessed it. The ( E: ) drive.had disappeared. I have even gone back with restore and it is still the same. I have been on the net looking for answers but nothing. Has anybody had this happen before and if so how did they get rid of the problem. Any help please Tony
  9. I have a caddy and I am going to try it in there via one of my laptops,I believe that will eliminate the main machine. After that I will be buying a new dvd drive,I can keep the old one for spares. I will update the forum with the results. Thanks to everybody who contributed Regards Tony
