  1. We're looking for a gas engineer to cap off the gas supply to the hob in our kitchen before we pull it out and reconnect it after we've had a new kitchen fitted. Can anyone recommend any Gas Safe engineers? Cheers, Simon
  2. I noticed yesterday that the exterior of the Ship Inn has been painted, and looks like it could be re-opening. Does anyone know what's happening to the Ship Inn?
  3. I'm wanting to replace Victorian copings to the wall at the front of our house. I'm struggling to find reclaimed copings at the size I need, so wondered if anyone knew of any stonemasons that may be able to help? Thanks, Simon
  4. Thanks for your replies H.P. If you have any photos, I'd appreciate being able to take a look, particularly as we're also wanting a wood burning stove fitted as another project. Thanks again.
  5. Thanks, much appreciated. I was actually just reading through some of the Free Index reviews, thanks for the link though.
  6. Also had my fingers burnt slightly in the past too, so trying to do a bit of homework myself. Where did you find the reviews on LSM? I haven't been able to find out too much about them, that's why I posted here...
  7. Thanks very much, that's very helpful. It's good to get someone's opinion who's had work carried out by LSM. Cheers, Simon
  8. I've had a couple of quotes for a cellar conversion one of which is from LSM Builders. As it's quite a big undertaking we want to be sure we make the right choice. Has anyone used LSM Builders and if so what was your experience like? Thanks for any help or advice. Cheers, Simon
  9. I'm looking for a landscape gardener to convert an overgrown area at the top of our garden into a two tiered veg patch separated by railway sleepers. Does anyone have any recommendations? Cheers, Simon
  10. I totally agree WalkleyIan. Walkley has a vibrant feel about it, with great locally amenities as you mentioned. It's great to have Beeches around the corner, which in my eyes is now more than a butchers, and is actually more like an urban farm shop. I love Walkley Beer Co. and I've been meaning to try Gerties and the Pie Shop for a while now. Yes, the incidents of the last week have been unfortunate, but I still love living in Walkley.
  11. I agree Walkley is a lovely place to live, although recent events have brought home some harsh realities. There was also a car broken into in the early hours of this morning, with items stolen from the boot.
  12. There was a spate of burglaries on Walkley Crescent Road on Saturday, 3rd January, with three houses being broken into and valuables stolen. In the case of one, (and I presume the others) the break-in occurred in the middle of the day, with the back door being kicked in. Just thought I'd highlight the recent unfortunate events so people in the local area can stay vigilant. Thanks, Simon
  13. We live in a Victorian end terrace and are wanting to convert our cellar into a utility room / occasional room. Can anyone that's had past experience of this recommend any companies or tradesmen? Cheers, Simon
