  1. Blimey - some ladies do get their undies a bit tangled form time to time!
  2. I refer you to my question at post 353 - are you going to answer, or try to avoid answering again by bouncing the question back, because you can't answer it???? Come on, oh great enemy.
  3. ah I see - bit much for the deadly ninja to explain as clearly as you did, instead of his bizarre rants.
  4. Which phoney wars have you been sent on? Have you been in many wars, scary enemy?
  5. They didn't, that's for sure, and until 1943 it really was Britain holding off the Germans with very little support from the rest of the Allies (but a lot of equipment form the US). From that point on though, German land forces were mostly destroyed by the Russians. Whether we like it or not though, the overall capacity of the Americans could have taken on the rest of the world - more so even than it could today. The Germans may have had advanced plans for transatlantic Arado jet bombers, V3s that could target the USA and all sorts of other schemes, but American naval supremacy would have been untouchable and soon enough its overwhelming aircraft production and natural resources would have had Germany, even with all of Europe under German control, either suing for peace or crushed.
  6. That was not all out war, but limited the Americans in terms of what they could pursue in military objectives, in case you hadn't noticed the difference. Carry on yourself.
  7. That's political correctness for you, writ large by an ineffective government that should be ousted tomorrow.
  8. Which wouldn't be a problem if the government empowered the Police to sort real crime instaead of making them chase after silly targets and harrass motorists all the time.
  9. The Germans had a very impressive industrial capacity for their part, and were achieving a great deal both in terms of volume and technology. But have you compared their actual production ability, remembering that the USA was only in the war for half of the time?: Military trucks: USA 2.4 million - Germany 346000 Tanks USA 88000 - Germany 47000 Machine guns USA 2.7 million - Germany 674000 Bomber aircraft USA 97000 - Germany 18000 Transport aircraft USA 24000 - Germany 3000 The really big resourse sapper, ships: Aircraft carriers USA 22 fleet carriers plus 141 escort carriers - Germany, 2 under production Battleships US 8 - Germany 2 Cruisers US 48 - Germany 0 Destroyers US 349 - Germany 17 Fleet escorts US 420 - Germany 23 Submarines US 400 - Germany 1300 And a massive, massive indicator, oil production: US 833 million tons - Germany 34 million tons Had it overwhelmed Europe, Germany would have been crushed by US industrial capacity, because even if you add the Russian and UK production figures to Germany's, the US is still way, way ahead.
  10. Couldn't agree more - the countdown would make people floor the throttle in the UK and lead to higher energy crashes at lights. I'd put money on it.
  11. If we allow 30mph is 13.35 metres per second. A normal road tyre can exert at least 0.9g deceleration on a car in average road conditions. Close to 1.0g in good conditions, but let's take 0.9 as our figure. Think back to 'O' level applied maths and the old distance time equations: v=U+at, or U=-at and therefore t=U/-a Where: U, initial velocity, is 13.35m/s V, final velocity, is zero a, deceleration, is -0.9g (0.9x9.81m/s/s = -8.83m/s/s) t, time - how long it will take to slow to a stop. Punch in the numbers, and you come up with about 1.5 seconds braking time from 30mph to zero - easily. that even allows a full half a second for thinking time. So, clearly, you can slow from 30 to a stand still in an ordinary road car in under 2 seconds. Maybe not with gentle braking, but very possible nonetheless.
  12. My grandpa smoked them. Killed him.
  13. Would a modern Guy Fawkes be seen as a pariah or a hero if he managed to blow up this current crop of eejuts who are mis-managing the UK?
  14. I am losing the argument here with you, not that it was ever intended in such a way but would you grant an amnesty to all banned members on here as long as they were given clear guidelines as to their behaviour? Would you give them help and encouragement to get them back on track and help them not upset any people in the future? You come across as an intelligent person and you must have an idea on how to handle people. Would you dedicate a bit of time to helping someone else? I would.
